I hope those states that's has enact law to collect VAT by themselves would go through to end. States destroying alcoholic drinks need not benefits from VAT generated from it.

Obaseki, for once in his life should be useful and do the needful and follow the footsteps of Wike and co..
So, from your miserable mind now, you think beer is the only commodity with VAT on.

This problem isn't entirely about VAT but the funny fact that the country doesn't operate under 1 Constitution for all.

One part of the country is operating under a different law while the other part are forced to follow such laws, yet they tell you ONE Nigeria.
If there are different laws in Nigeria, we can just start a decentralized system of government.
Thank you.

If a Southern State forms a board with its roots rooted in the Christian doctrine, won't those leeches up North start complaining?

Wike is not even doing enough, they're several way you can hit this leeches harder...

It's better we start killing and destroying cows here in the south because beer bottles don't destroy farms in kano yet they destroy it. That pile of bones in Aso rock is a rabies infected imp.

NORTH and SOUTH have NO BUSINESS being in the same Country! They are completely Opposite in Everything you can imagine
But Northerners prefer this forced Unity because it allows them to 'parasite' on Southern Resources.

The North should stand on its own afteral, Bull-hari has used all our Resources and used us as "Loan Collateral", to exclusively develop the North since 2015, what else do these parasites want? angry

I normally laugh at these sort of news, but finally they’ve piqued my interest.

1. This is the prohibition era all over again. Hisbah is obviously illiterate because history shows banning alcohol for whatever reason never works.

2. They destroy the bottles, right? What then happens to the shattered glasses, do they remain on the floor for innocent children and animals to step on and bleed to unconsciousness?

3. For every one bottle they destroy, the more expensive the others which make it through become. People will get their alcohol either way and piracy will become common place. Hisbah will focus on destroying a small percentage of ‘imports’ while the populace will focus on stronger locally-brewed drinks.

4. Southerners are laughing not caring that Christian fanatics can do the same. It takes a community to start it before others join and soon states.

5. Hisbah is chasing alcoholic beverages meanwhile drugs are causing the most mayhem in the Muslim community. I’ve never heard of someone going insane from alcohol intake. The myriad variety of drugs tell a different tale.

Nairalanders can’t answer these questions and observations. Make una no worry una brain. Curiosity led to their birth.

I blame that old ugly gorilla called, Obasanjo, for allowing the creation of this barbaric sharia law! This mo*ron also gave Bakassi to Cameroun!

How the id*iot thought having two entirely different laws in this country was a good idea, is unbelievable!

Nigeria hasn't had a good leader yet! Since the independence we've been having bunch of Incompetent self-centered id*lots as "leaders"! Nigeria isn't a total mess today for no reason!

It is enough that your religion dose not allow.it, but stopping those who don't have problem with it is where the line was crossed. We are long overdue for regonalism such that different laws can guide each region. I an yet to understand the true usefulness of hisbah. Shay when America sent troops to defend Afghanistan the3y where complaining now Taliban has taken over and the people badly want to run away from the land to the point of hanging on to the body of a plane. Body go tell them now after Taliban rules for 5 yes.

I can't agree less with you.. Kano should not be enjoying the proceeds from what it prohibits. And such wouldn't have been happening if true federalism is being practiced.

Truthissupreme:
But your goof is that Beer is officially a revenue source of this country meaning it's a national commercial commodity and not a public menance without benefit e.g street begging

Meaning every state not interested in beer consumption simply because it sees it as a nusiance should also not be interested in it's commercial proceeds i.e VAT
You are right though... The entire federal arrangement is an anomaly. True federalism is when states are given more powers in their natural resources.
