U guys like dissing the north angry but you're just as bad. I remember reading that the south has a birthrate double the size of SA. In SA we have 2 to 3 kids on average, southern Nigeria 4 to 6 and the north a bit more than that.

Your country is a nympho

[quote author=TMKsouth post=105621933]The department of basic education in South Africa has made available condom vending machines in some schools in a bid to decrease teenage pregnancies and the incidence of HIV/Aids.

The provision of condoms is one of the services offered in a programme targeting adolescent girls and young women aged 10 to 19.

Working with the department of health, the programme provides a range of services, including HIV testing, emergency contraception when a child is raped, and screening, investigation and treatment of sexually transmitted infections.

Granville Whittle, one of the department’s deputy directors-general, told parliament on Tuesday during a briefing on teenage pregnancies that the programme also provides support for teen parents on how they can take care of their babies.

“Girls don’t drop out because they fall pregnant; they fall pregnant because they dropped out and so schooling is a protective factor,” said Whittle.

“We don’t deny services to boys coming forward to say they want access to services. We provide testing for HIV and condom distribution for boys when they come and ask for them,” he said.

Rape & societal problems

The programme is being offered in districts with a high prevalence of HIV/Aids and teen pregnancies.

“Schools are being encouraged to report pregnancy, particularly those involving children under 14, because that’s rape.”

The deputy minister of basic education, Reginah Mhaule, told parliament that teenage pregnancy was a societal matter.

She said the statistics indicated that “most of these young girls are impregnated at home ... by relatives, by their biological fathers, stepfathers and uncles”.

Figures for national deliveries in facilities by the department of health revealed that 132,612 girls aged 15 to 19 fell pregnant in 2020 and a further 35,209 between January and March this year. A shocking 3,774 girls aged 10-14 years fell pregnant last year and 1,053 in the first three months of this year.

The rate of HIV/AIDS just too high for South Africa wettin self ..

That's actually not the issue here..... and I want to tell u why our birthrate d
Is more than yours....
It just population difference..
And we dont have teenage pregnancies as much as it is here in South Africa.
These kids have sex like there's no tomorrow....
So if providing condoms will help reduced the pregnancy rate....
It fine..
But another problem I see that's been going on is that boys dont like to use condoms..... hence these teenage girls go for pregnancy prevention injections.

While the world is busy fighting Covid-19 pandemic, South Africa, for decades now, has been fighting its huge HIV endemic.

In fact, if more care is not taken, majority of the population would be HIV positive in the near future!

@bolded - it's the same argument about having condom dispensers in prisons. It's happening anyway so you might just as well ensure it happens safely.

The problem with high rape case and under age child birth is mostly due to the indecent dressing of the students. There is no way students would go to school in mini skirts or gowns and you won't find some men who have no self control or decency who would take advantage of them.

Here in Nigeria, you dare not go to school in mini skirts, even at University level. Of course, eradicating mini skirts may not be the total solution to this menace; however, it reduces the menace.

Our Northern brothers had to ban the use of mannequins in shops just to avoid stories that touch - all because of their libido. Down here in the South, people are more enlightened and knows the implication of rape or underage marriage - long years behind bars.

How effective is dispensing female condoms in curbing pregnancy and HIV from rape and other shenanigans?

Would the lady take a break during the act to wear it or wear beforehand in preparation?

Why is the rape incidents high though? And what is the punishment for proven rape in SA?

I don't think this system would achieve what they want it to.

like I told one lady..

sex is just too overrated in Nigeria..; in fact according to Nigeria.. immorality is the greatest sin, that stopped people from progressing in life yet a lot of pornstars are more successful than all Nigerian virgins plus pastors combined

am not supporting immorality but I hate it when people try to play God in another adult's life.

if he/she decided to b a IndecentStar even after all the advice.. please just let him be..

if SA, say they want to give condoms to all from teens and above etc, then let them be...

I have never heard that a person is successful in life and marriage because he /she is a virgin..,

so this virgin is nothing.. if u want to marry or die a virgin.. its ur choose... and shouldn't imposed on any other adult.

@tmksouth. What is the reason for the short skirts being worn by south African students always? It is quite suggestive if you ask me .

In fact, when I used to watch the Jerusalem challenge on Youtube last year I saw it was a trend in most of these southern African countries(South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, etc). Some of the girls wore ridiculously short skirts while the boys were properly dressed.
