It was in the middle of the race that Lex luthor mentioned it was for Charity, and Superman heard it with SUPERHEARING (but flash didn't know until he lost).
Flash was winning when lex said it, when Supes heard it He STOPPED HOLDING BACK!

As you can see Barry didn't know it was for Charity ergo he lied. Lex told them to keep it a secret ,he didn't even want Supes to know! Characters say a lot of things that are not supported by on panel evidence.

Superman has the most impressive speed feats till date for anyone unamped.

Superman always holds back all the time , If he wants to cut loose he will mention it , just like he did with Doomsday, that trashed everyone. Immediately he cut loose he killed Doomsday in a few punches (two I think). During the Race with flash tht he unleashed he mentioned it.

Nice try I know of all the races both in the precrisis era. I'm not counting precrisis because he was changed in the crisis.
Superman won their most recent race hahahaha Superman #709 in 2011 . So currently Superman is holding the winning record.

Supes was having a conversation with Barry w/ Speedforce in the attosecond, while everyone else was a statue. I was actually referring to Barry with Speedforce. Without the Speedforce he would toast Barry.

The flashes weren't holding back if you actually read the comic and what happened there. But Superman wasn't cutting loose.
Also flashes amp themselves when they run together.
