So does this imply that if I buy heavy items that costs less than 50k (that costs 49k maybe), DHL or most especially UPS (FedEx has been quite reasonable and has never sent me such mails) or all those other yẹ̀yẹ́ expedited shipping companies are not supposed to send me message to pay duty into their account? UPS usually send a breakdown of all charges to my email.

It doesn't matter how big an item is. Duties are paid based on the cost of an item, not the weight. You have already paid shipping cost based on the weight.
Customs has no business with that, as far as it is not contraband . As they say, "wetin concern agbero with overland?" But this is technical. As you might know, duties include the shipping cost and insurance cost, if you paid any. Hence, by the time you pay to ship a big or heavy item, the shipping cost would have been enough to put the total cost over the top of the duties threshold.

The size of items delivered by Speedaf as the last mile courier might change at any time but at this time, they deliver small parcels. I am not sure what the weight limit is. It depends on the arrangement they have with aliexpress. Of course you know that aliexpress still uses NIPOST, DHL and others. It is basically a bike delivery for now. No trucks in Nigeria yet. They may be test-running the capabilities of Speedaf before the heavy lifting begins.

The Alibaba Group which owns the aliexpress own a good chunk of Speedaf. Hence,expect the carriage of heavy items as they strengthen out logistics capabilities in Nigeria. I was opportuned to visit their office in my district when the building they use was just being rehabilitated. The painting, plastering and furnishings were just being carried out.

You should be glad. Combined delivery on speedaf (NG tracking number) is what everyone here seriously covets, as opposed to combined delivery on anything NIPOST. That's like getting two great services in one.

I've a combined delivery on Singapore (RB tracking number) that has stayed on "departed country of origin" status for more than two weeks now. In that same period, three items on speedaf and Cainiao (L00... tracking number) were shipped and have both been delivered.

How long depends on courier and inland destination. If shipped using Singapore, arrival to Nigeria now averages 3/4 weeks. NIPOST will take 3-10days depending on your location.

If shipped via Speedaf, averages 2weeks to arrival. Inland delivery depends on your location too but give it 5/6 days.

I just tracked using speedaf now and I found out it has been picked up by an agent to be delivered.
Custom clearance took a solid 5 days.

The duties depend on the declared value of the laptop. We don't have that information
