ZombieNation: I don't know if that's true but you bring up interesting arguements. I thought they left mainly because of the demographic composition of country in general and assuming they'd have certain rights under federal system practiced there at the time. |

Danzysb: And what carried you to the north? The British used to address the north as a Fundamentalist Islamic State. Other nationalities down south where weary of having anything to do with the north and even wanted a seperate nation out of NIgeria but you Igbos whom escorted the WHite man as houseboys, cooks, cleaners and clerks to the north saw the north as heaven on earth when compared to your graveyard region. I have no pities for your people then and now as you are the same idiots the north will target in their region in order to foist their political will, 1 Like |

Blue3k: It is in the public domain and they made it clear that Igbos had concentrated everything in Enugu and dominated all aspects of both governance and civil service of the defunct Eastern region. Before there was an Abuja, there was Enugu. You will go to Calabar and find an Igbo as a Clark in a Local Govt office. Where Igbos the only educated people? 2 Likes |

ZombieNation: We're talking about the 1961 plebiscite right? Most of the issues you refer to happened after the coup in 1966. The southern Caneroons left while their northern Muslim neighbors stayed and joined Nigeria. Considering how they're whining about oppression now it might have been better to stay in Nigeria who knows. BigSarah: Yeah I'm wondering why northern cameroon would join. Am I to assume the same domineering tendency wasn't prevalent in northern Nigeria compared to the old Eastern region.

[s]ZombieNation:[/s] First of all after 1970 some parts of Igbo land were carved out to remove them from the possession of oil and economically strangulate them, which didn't work the way they wanted, parts of Ndokiland from Abia state was moved to akwaibom,Obigbo moved from imo to rivers state and even had a name change from "Obigbo to "Oyigbo","Oyigbo" being an Ogoni name, parts of Egbema went into rivers, etc, so Igbo land is not restricted to just south east as misguided and mischievous lots wants us to believe. Igbos had kings since time immemorial, what they didn't have is a single sovereign king that rules over all igbos. Igbos don't think the marxist way to start with,I wonder where you got that from,Yes zik wanted a unified Nigeria at first. Note:If the others wanted no Unified Nigeria, they could have rejected it at all cost, they eventually went with a unified One Nigeria. 2 Likes |

ZombieNation:Igbos are naturally business minded and travellers and also adventurous,go and also ask the igbos in Dubai, USA and Norway what they are doing there, even today I don't know any where in the world you won't find an Igbo.If they go any where they hope to succeed. Nobody is comparing North with east anyways, and we are also making it clear to those outside igboland to start investing home. |
