I'm not going back to Leno vs Martinez argument again. Let's hope Ramsdale is a good shot stopper as much as he's a good distributor of the ball (at least for the sake of our club) going forward.
No one is bringing any Leno v Martinez
We are just telling you what Leno keep doing that caused the team alot

Again common sense must prevail when you are in a situation where you know that playing to instructions is not possible.

I'll give it to Martinez and Ramsdale over Leno in terms of making good judgement on when to play out from the back and when to go long.

As per shot saving, Leno in my opinion is superb.

Shout out to the defense ,they were immense and turned up.

I believe the foundation is being set towards a long term plan but I have my worries over the tactics and too much tinkering. Arteta makes small things complicated and I have my doubts as to whether he can really take us to that top four level let alone championship challenging level.

Don't be deceived, the clean sheet u see Ramsdale enjoying now is as a result of combination of factors ; the defence stepping up, Partey in midfield and the fact that we are currently playing lowly rated teams.

The big test comes when we start playing average to above teams. Hopefully the defence and midfield will remain rock solid as they appear in the last two matches.

You still haven't gotten the point
The keeper is calm even under pressure, if Leno was in goal yesterday we will concede especially from the passing from back.
Look at that pk shout and he knows when to play long ball instead of passing from back.
If Leno don't concede him head no they straight

The keeper u claimed is calm under pressure nearly caused a goal that same yesterday.....we have Providence to thank for the ball not bouncing in the wring direction after he hesitated and hit the ball agsint the oncoming burnley player. ( This is fact and not me making things up)

U don't know with certainty Leno would concede a goal yesterday........that's just sentiment and bias talking right there.

Like I already said earlier, the big tests will come soon. Once Ramsdale shows himself to be an equally good shot-stopper as a good ball distributor, then he has my blessings to.continue in goal for us to the betterment of the club.

That's some big difference between two of em.

Though Xhaka is left footer. But Ramsdale pointed at an option Partey could. Leno didn't. He just doesn't communicate well with them.

I won't lie Leno don save Arsenal alot of blushes tho. But what made the love drop was the way Martinez was dropped and sold and eventually same Leno is eager to leave Emirates a year after....

So he deserves part of that stick.

Its not considered much a part of rating a GK, but that is going to make Fans Love him. It also inspires his Defenders to want to protect him as well.

Emirates need Some Inspiration right now.

Arsenal U-23 Update

The kids have enjoyed a good start to the new season. Despite suffering a red card in the first half, they defeated Chelsea 6-1.

Balogun scored a brace, M. Biereth scored a hatrick and an own goal from Chelsea's Lewis Hall.

Last week, they defeated Manchester United 3-1 with Balogun scoring a brace and my boy Patino with a spectacular solo effort and a elite finish.

Overall, a lot of progress has been made this season. They sit 2nd on the table 1 point behind City who they play next weekend.

I want Balogun to continue to work with the U-23 and get some play time during cup games. As for Patino? He looks really really confident. Azeez started for Portsmouth as an AM (Call me a prophet) in their home loss yesterday. He saw 59 minutes of action before he was substituted.

Maddison played only 45mins and his team lost 2-1 to Brighton

Odegaard gave us a goal and a win...

I think I said it here that I am not a fan of Maddison.
He remind me of Ozil but in this case a lower Ozil. Maddison to me is too predictable and he slow games down. I miss the Leicester when he was out and injured walahi

The U23 looks very promising. Most of them are not far from first team action.

I remember you said Azeez is more of an AM. I haven't seen him with Portsmouth but I will hail you when I confirm.

Our first eleven is taking shape...Arteta should rather add quality replacements and back ups rather than experimenting.

Ranmi Oladele

Tomi Dairo

Benson

Gabriel De Maga

Tijani

Parte after parte

Martin Odegbami

Emily Orowale

Nicki peperempe

Bukky sakabula

Emefiele Obadina airways

With Lacasera, Maltina as backups for the forwards...Samba Lokomba, River Niles and Granite backing the midfield up...Pablo Escobar, Rob, Suara and Tafa backing the defence up. We should be able to at least do better than last season.

Wetin you think?

This Biereth kid is a monster. He scored for fun too at Fulham.
We have an interesting set of young strikers coming through.

Maddison is a slightly upgraded version of Smith Rowe.
There was no way I'd have picked him over Odegaard. Dude barely creates chances from open play. People looked at his numbers instead of his style of play and decided to shit on Odegaard.

Make saka rest! That boy seems burn out ; somebody needs to give him like two or 3 weeks break....shebi Martinelli dey collect salary, make that one sef play na.

Saka played a whole of questionable football today, but I believe allowing him to rest and sit two or three games out will get him refreshed abeg!
Yep. Time to bench Saka. Move ESR to the left and Pepe on the right.

I like this 4-3-3 Arteta is trying to implement. The main issue is Partey's fitness is extremely unreliable and Xhaka doesn't suit this at all.
We honestly should've pushed for Aouar if we were going to go this route. I still prefer ESR on the left than through the middle.
Club should start planning for life after Partey. It's clear we won't be able to get a full season out of him.

Yep exactly. Supplement the team with the right bit of experience and we're set.
Most case scenario, we sell for a reasonable price i.e Willock and Iwobi.

Big credit to Per who is doing a terrific job in charge of Hale End. Arteta alluded to this progress during his last presser when he said we have a lot of exciting things coming through from the academy. Like I said in one of my previous posts, the most impressive thing about their development is the focus on their ball technique, physical strength and expanding their skills in playing expansive football around their area of strength.

While I understand your concern regarding Partey, implore you to be patient with Partey. I believe it is clear to everyone including our opponents that Partey is class. He is the only player that I can confidently argue will walk into the first 11 of the top teams in the EPL if healthy.

He is currently on a minutes restriction and that was why he signaled to be subbed against Burnley. If you watch the game closely, you will notice he was fatigued by the time he was subbed and that is expected, especially when you consider how much he has missed real action. His conditioning will come, however, it will be gradual.

Also, this man is coming from the La Liga which can not be compared to the ruggedness/ physicality and speed of the EPL,. Prior to Arsenal, he did not have a long history with injuries. The most recent ankle injury was not his doing.. If anything, he had no business playing that friendly against Chelsea, it was a dirty tackle from RLC. We need to be patient with him because if he finds a way to stay healthy, we stand a good chance of making this season good.

The formation favours attack more which is what we want. But I noticed that in our match against Burnley, when we switched to a double pivot- Lokonga/AMN, we had more attacking intent. So for the 433 to succeed, our front men must know how to keep and hold possession.

I think it had more to do with Burnley finally opening up a bit and the energy Lokonga and AMN brought when they came in.
ESR does feel a bit uncomfortable playing as one of the 8s though. I noticed Arteta switched him to the left while Saka moved to the middle during the game.
Hopefully he adapts soon.
