I recently saw a message on my phone when I scroll my menu down, I have not been seeing it there before.

Message reads 'network maybe monitored' and I open message further, it reads "A security authority is installed on this device, your secure traffic may be monitored or modified"

It's like a number if you dial *#04# it's gonna bring it out
That number could be used to track you anywhere u are if I'm not mistaken

I guess u bought the phone hand to hand

So if you re using that phone for runs and shitt I'll suggest u sell the phone asap

I'm still prone to corrections though

I guess a certificate or rather a credential has been installed on your device via an app or so
that allows a third party to easily monitor your network activities
Either format your phone or uninstall user certificates

It is removable

Go to your phone settings scroll to certificates, click on remove certificates.
Simple as that

There are some that are tagged trusted certificates, you can leave those ones if you wish and delete the rest that are not trusted

There's an installations on your phone that intercept your network activity, its either an app ,or you're using someone's network wifi often, I'd advise you format phone immediately and don't even back up your files unl we you know which infected.

It is mainly for security purpose.
It is to confirm or test the authenticity of a website or domain inorder for u to know whether such domain can be trusted with ur data.

Privacy in Nigeria is one of the worst in the world.

Any agency can call your ISP and quote cyber terrorism laws just to retrieve and monitor you. To make matters worse, no sanctions are in place for people who use crooked means to harvest your data.

To reduce these, do at least the following:
*assume everyone can see everything on your phone
*dont buy phones from easybuy. If you do, try and format it after making all payments.
*dont borrow from those chinese loan apps. If you have done, assume everything about you is in plenty unsecured computers both in Nigeria and china. Everything.
*use DuckDuckGo for search and Tor for those websites you dont want linked to you.
*avoid phones with bloatware as much as possible. Disable those apps that you cant delete.
*review app permissions and modify accordingly
*dont download just any app you see. Any app you dont use at least once a month is possibly redundant
*dont click links you see on porn sites.
*treat every website trying to divert you to another website as a suspect.
*every website you visit has a tendency to track you. Clear cookies as often as possible. Use a privacy focused browser.
*Google and Facebook are not your friends.

These are just a few basics. You can research more on privacy online.
