Fatality rates vary from country to country. The 1% figure you are banding about is for the whole world cumulatively but the fact of the matter is some nations are harder hit than others that is the situation with SA, but you are mischievously trying to claim that other countries have experienced high number of deaths with your only evidence being testing which doesn't necessarily equal to causation. America experienced about 500000 plus covid deaths last year so because 1% of a population dies from it's normal for half a million to die in a year? Even the Boko Haram insurgency as horrible as it has been for Nigeria hasn't cumulatively killed that number let alone within a year.

Egypt has a bigger economy... Not a better one, in terms of actual wealth SA dwarfs Egypt or any other African country for that matter, infrastructure wise SA is light years ahead of Egypt as can be seen by the WB lpi ranking.

As for military, Egypt is funded by the US and middle east.... However SA has a much more sophisticated and larger defence industry and by far out matches Egypt technology wise.

Did I mention Egypt is the 39th most failed state in the world?

At least 228,000 primary school teachers have been trained on the Competency-based Curriculum (CBC), the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) says.

The TSC says training of teachers who will handle Grade Six pupils will be done in December 2021...The Commission made the revelations at Hilton Hotel in Nairobi on Tuesday, September 14 during Education ministry’s top officials’ meeting with the Kenya Editors Guild.

As we change our 4 decade old 8-4-4 system to the CBC,Competence Based Curriculum,there are the usual whines and bleats from those who'd have us all remain stagnant,iow in our comfort zone. Already our education system is qualitatively tops with Algeria but more needs to be done to keep us there. The CBC will reduce fixation on exams allowing better practical skills development and problem solving abilities.

A university built by kwame nkrumah, UCC was just rated above UN Kenya and it was adjuged to be among the best top four university in africa by THE.
