Please advice me, I want to buy a tokunba car. Unfortunately, the car has been parked unused for several years. Though, it was in good condition. Now I want to buy it, what are likely fault it may have developed since it was not used for many years, just parked in one place.

I will advise to go for another.... The car might look good in the eyes but for it to have been parked aside for a long time..... Oga mi run pls.... But if you know you wanna risk it then go for it..

Pay a very good mechanic to give it a thorough physical and diagnostic inspection. Gazzuzz does it for a fee

. trust mechanics at ur peril.

1. You need to change everything with rubber - belts, seatings, suspension parts, etc - rubber degrades with storage
2. Look for rat damage in the wiring
3. Drain every fluid and replace before you start that engine (oil might have thickened and co)
4. Check rubber hoses, they harden and get brittle and might leak
5. The fuel pump might have gone bad

Check for rat damage again.

If you're ready to go through all this then you're almost good.


Those are the precautions I took when purchasing a toks car parked for almost 2 years and I'm enjoying it till today.
