Guy, from what I've read you post here, you have no point

If you can train your child to take things from you and not from strangers, I think you can do the same here.

I understood the original poster of that thread and I understand this one too. Children pick up on things fast and as young as they are, they know, feel and understand things. They may not be able to express or articulate their thoughts and feelings like adults, but damn they are smart and intelligent beings.

Sometime ago, I was watching a PG movie (no age limits or restrictions) with my one year old niece and a kissing scene I didn't anticipate came on. I was desperately trying to reach the remote control to change the channel but I was couldn't. You know how when you sit on a couch and the remote control slips in between the cushions right? That's what happened and that's why I couldn't reach the remote quick enough.

Anyway, my niece watched the whole scene while we were both sitting, then she stood up (on the couch) and tried to kiss me, mimicking what she had just seen on TV. I was amused and shocked at the same time, but I stopped her.

For me, it's about the health implications of adult to infant mouth kissing more than anything else. I get that you are the parent of a child, but honestly if I were a mother I would refrain from mouth to mouth kissing of my infant, to avoid trips to the hospital over infections or other health issues, I may not know the origins of. For all we know, it could be contact with my my lips or acidic saliva causing my baby to be sick and if my man says he is not comfortable with something, I will listen because I am not the sole owner of that child.
