80 soldiers from the Republic of Algeria arrived in North Ossetia to participate in an international exercise.
The task of the exercise is to increase the readiness of command and control bodies, forces and means to fight terrorism. The military will conduct tactical actions to search for, detect and neutralize illegal conventional armed groups, find and destroy conventional explosive devices, and conduct radiological, chemical and biological reconnaissance in buildings and on the ground. The combat training plan of the Southern Military District in 2021 provides for the participation of military personnel of the district in international exercises with units of the armed forces of Abkhazia, Algeria, Armenia, India, Kazakhstan , Pakistan and South Ossetia.

While we celebrate Nigeria today, remember that the idea for Military Africa (formerly African Military Blog) started from this thread.

We've been here since 2016 covering military, defense news and updates that no other outlet will report, and which otherwise would have been lost for good.

It's been a lovely time all this while. Military Africa is always for Africans.

Happy Independence Day people.

One love

Happy Independence Day to my beloved country, Nigeria.

As a country, there are so many things to be proud of, but we understand that the challenges we face as a country are very tough, however they are not insurmountable.

Let us use this opportunity as Nigerians, both in Nigeria and in the Diaspora to reflect, reorganise and rebuild.

God Bless our country.

Meanwhile, I try not to post links from Military Africa so as not to look like I'm spamming this thread.

Anyway, Nigeria's new landing ship being constructed for the Navy by Damen Shipyards is one step closer to being fully combat ready.

So far, Damen has moved the ship down the slipway into the sea for final refitting using a heavy-duty synchro-lift. The hull and superstructure are complete and the propellers and associated shafting are in place. However, the engines have not been fitted.

Here's the video

The problem I have with you is, you don't seem to verify your information before posting.

You distort posts, I don't know if you do this deliberately or ignorantly but it happens to often not to be deliberate.

This information you posted is a Nigerian navy video, shared by the Nigerian navy months back when NNS Kada (Nigerian Navy LST) was launched.

It was shared here in this thread, on Facebook, Twitter & YouTube.

Why are you posting it now like it's some new information?

@kikuyu1, remember some time back when some puffed-up Lilliputians were deriding battalion+ exercises, calling them outdated? I'm looking at the division-sized Algerian exercises and laughing cos the imbeciles have wisely shut up.

This particular video was officially posted by Damen themselves 2 days ago. Look at the screenshot
....

Also, I don't know why you feel we'll want to distort fact. How do you know that your own viewpoint is not the wrong fact? Don't get me wrong, before any article is posted we have to look at several viewpoints and take the ones closer to the truth as possible.

Defense news in Africa is just recently opening up. Several information sources are not from official capacity. Alot of analysis have to be done.

Granted, mistakes are usually made no doubt. But if your observant, you'll see that we consistently update articles as new information comes.

It doesn't change the fact that a basic research would have shown that the information he is sharing is not new.

As I've shown, it is months old info.

If you want to be taking seriously, as a news source you need to know how to carry out basic OSINT, which includes but is not restricted to fact checking, citing of sources etc etc.

As we can all see, he copied a Nigerian Navy/Damen video, did not acknowledge the source, plasted his logo on the video and shared it as some sort of "breaking news".

Was I wrong to say he distorts posts?

This is one example of different viewpoints I explained above.

You say Damen posted it months ago. Which is true, meanwhile Damen also posted it 3 days ago. Which is also true. The fact that you watched it months ago doesn't mean that others watched it at the same time.

Bottom line is, you're quite wrong to say its a distorted fact.

@ chakib , i guess this post banned (pic 1 ) is from you .

You can send a mail to moderators to unban you from front page ( pic2) , and avoid sharing links in your posts in the futur , the antispam bot system here is very bad .

I apologise for my earlier comment.

However it still boils down to you doing proper OSINT before posting content, remember you want to be considered a credible source.
