The statement follows President Muhammadu Buhari’s announcement that the Twitter ban will be lifted, but only after certain conditions are met.

The social media platform, Twitter, which is currently banned in Nigeria, says it looks forward to having its operations reinstated in the most populous African country following “productive” discussions with its government.

According to BBC, Twitter spokesperson on Friday said, “We continue to engage with the Nigerian government and we are committed to charting a path forward to the restoration of Twitter for everyone in Nigeria. “Discussions with the Nigerian government have been respectful and productive – we look forward to seeing the service restored very soon.”
The statement follows President Muhammadu Buhari’s announcement that the Twitter ban will be lifted, but only after certain conditions are met.

In June, the Nigerian government announced the suspension of the popular microblogging site from Nigeria, citing activities that allegedly threaten the country’s corporate existence on the platform.

The ban came a day after Twitter deleted Buhari’s tweet threatening to deal with Igbo youths “in the language they understand”.

The tweet was deemed genocidal as it referenced the onslaught of the Nigerian state against Biafrans during the civil war.

Since then, Nigerians can only access the site by bypassing the government’s obstruction via Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).

Attorney-General Abubakar Malami had earlier threatened to prosecute those who continue to use the platform but made a U-turn, saying only corporate entities were liable for prosecution.

Following the global condemnation of the Twitter ban in Nigeria as well as other diplomatic interventions, the Buhari regime set up a panel to negotiate terms upon which the ban would be lifted in Nigeria.

Buhari is planning a genocide in Southern Nigeria. Twitter ban is a part of silencing voices that would expose his plans.

Buhari is also working to crumble the Southern economy so that nobody can resist his genocidal moves. That's why he's sending his henchmen to terrorize a region that used to be a haven of peace before 2015. Now, he is killing off illustrious Southerners like Dr. Akunyili out of envy and trying to hang it on IPOB.

Who tells you that all the so-called Yahoo Boys being arrested in the South are criminals? He is arresting our forex and crypto millionaires also because he wants to silence every possible resistance to his evil moves.

Twitter's return will be useless because everything you post will be vetted and tagged hate speech. But, it will remain on record that it was when Buhari threatened SE with genocide and Twitter deleted the threat that BUHARI BANNED TWITTER.

Here is a fellow who spends whatever it takes to arrest the likes of Kanu and Igboho in foreign countries. But, he pretends not to see his killer foot soldiers disguised as cow herders.

Oh wait, now they can have respectful and productive discussions?

Sebi before they were promoting the use of VPN. They should have kept to it and everyone will see where that leaves everyone.

Global corporations are not bigger than sovereign countries.
