zxcvbnmlkjhgfds:It won't clear it all. You need laraforce gold (Lambda cyhalothrin 5% + Imidacloprid 15% SC) or Renova (thiamethoxam 250 wdg) to get rid of aphids. |

zxcvbnmlkjhgfds:There are traps called feromone traps. See it at work in this video where profitable farming is discussed with right choice of seeds. https://www.facebook.com/Samsonprolific/videos/601667967873307/ |

emmaachile2:I'll do so. Won't it be too expensive for a backyard gardener ? |
| Re: Diary Of A Backyard Gardener! by emmaachile2(m): 7:52pm On Sep 23, 2021 |
zxcvbnmlkjhgfds:It's around N3000 or so. Gardening isn't cheap at all but the reward is worth it in the long run with knowledge of first hand farming. I consider it as lesson money. |

emmaachile2:Honestly it isn't cheap and I salute the courage of full-scale farmers. For this season alone, I've expended over 20k on what I'm not selling Some peeps see this as foolishness but I know it's knowledge gained. If I were to quantify the data spent downloading materials (videos, eBooks etc) on gardening! All the same, no knowledge is wasted or lost |

Dear diary, Compliments of the new month! It's going to be a fruitful one. We're here with the first official harvest of the cucumbers! This is dedicated to emmaachile2 for been a great human being . His assistance offline has been of tremendous difference in the garden. The Laraforce Gold he suggested is really working! The fruitflies are gone and now I can enjoy my harvest peacefully. This harvest is official because it's the one I've gotten time to update on this diary but it's actually the 3rd round of harvest ![]() Other plants are doing well. Stay tuned for update on the new mulching method I'll be trying out as dry season approaches ![]() Shalom.

zxcvbnmlkjhgfds:Thanks for the compliment. How many fruits per plant so far? Cucumbers can keep producing for 8 to 12 weeks or even more if it has the right nutrition. Any granular fertilizer used so far? |
| Re: Diary Of A Backyard Gardener! by zxcvbnmlkjhgfds(op): 4:50pm On Oct 03, 2021 |
emmaachile2:Honestly I didn't note the number of fruits per plant. No granular fertilizer used except the foliar spray. I only have the 20-10-10 granular fertilizer. I don't think that's still needed at this stage. Or is it ? |
| Re: Diary Of A Backyard Gardener! by emmaachile2(m): 7:42pm On Oct 03, 2021 |
zxcvbnmlkjhgfds:Not advisable except you can combine 10g of npk in soil with your digrow red foliar spray. |
| Re: Diary Of A Backyard Gardener! by zxcvbnmlkjhgfds(op): 7:46pm On Oct 03, 2021 |
emmaachile2:I've been considering that DI-Grow also. That'll be for next planting season. For now, make my account relax small. We're moving into animal husbandry soonest! |

zxcvbnmlkjhgfds:Which foliar are you using? I thought you have a foliar. |

Dear Diary, It has really been a long time! No vex! Updates on my backyard garden: harvests of cucumbers, eggplant and carrots have been going on steadily. Radish and onion have been planted (as experiments), watermelon also has been planted. I am fully enjoying the benefits of container gardening in a small space. It has its limitations tho (we'll discuss this later). All in all, it has been a good year so far! We do not give up! This is a learning page for me. |
