You need to develop the discipline of writing down your dreams immediately you wake up. Even if it is fragments that you can remember at that time write them down . Then go into contemplation using any spiritually charged words. You can try singing the HU. As you sing relax and put your attention on your spiritual eye. Gradually the remnants of the dream will come back to you.
If you keep up this discipline remembering your dreams clearly will come more easily to you

Self-mastery simply means a person has the ability to run his own life according to the laws of Spirit.

This presumes you know the laws of Spirit. The understanding of these laws comes through the Light and Sound of God.
