Not land grabber in my opinion.
Nigeria Army started her barracks in Benin city from that location in the olden days. Now two places have been allocated to them; Isihor(School of Supply and Transport)And Ekenwa(Barracks) as it were. Nigeria Immigration has been sharing the place for sometimes now.

Whenever there is confrontation between men from both agencies, the atmosphere is always tensed. It's better one vacate for the other.

Your comments is neither funny, logical or reasonable. The state might have other reasons or plans for the lands. Nairaland is filled with kids. Seun find a way to sanitize nairaland, intelligent people will leave it for terrorists, secessionists and dumb people soon.

Immigration plays a fast one on NA there.

The said is a barrack but has no more weaponry anymore, just some few military presence, civilian.occupants because it's cheap retenage. It's a hives for breeding notorious thugs and turning teenagers to sex prostitute machine. It's currently a slum that must be developed. I hope a Private personal would develop it to give the area some good economic sense. The army currently collect all taxes that must have necesitated the retrieval.

Let's see how this goes.

This forum have become a playground for indolent youths, itchy fingers typing trash.
The land in question was given to the Army and used as Barack many decades ago(probably during the civil war) but the army have since moved the Baracks out for a while though the land still has some army properties.

Please all those idiots on the first page should keep quiet on issues beyond their little reasoning. Obaseki should stop this his nonsense of trying to claim land that was acquired by revoking the c of o like he did to Garrick school and others. If he is really doing it for the interest of the state he should have asked the army to develop it as that axis is a notorious blackspot or he should deacquire the hundreds of parcels of lands the then ogbemudia government mischievously acquired because of political witch-hunt along that axis it as the law states. The law states that any government land acquired under that wicked and nebulous purpose called ' overriding public interest' should be returned to the owner if the government does not use it for that purpose within 25 years

Edo nor be Lagos.... grin

Army don turn to omo ile.. for warri u go just dey see random army signpost "This land belongs to the Nigeria army. Do not trespass"

Ole buruku.... but if na Lagos na army go dey wan play god

U should have known that the reclaiming of the land by Edo state is not by violence, the governor discussed the issue with the COAS amicably without riot or anything, and the Army released the land as said.. what do u want to hear again.. for u to be comparing Lagos to this

You misinterpret what happen. Army vacate the land for other agencies like the immigration prison to expand their offices. Army are not using the land.

Army leave the land for immigration, prisons and other federal agencies to expand their offices because they all presently occupy the land

I see all states collecting their ancestral lands from the fulani army, I see the army relocating all their barracks to the north.

This I have seen.
This is why you wail, they say ignorance is a disease, any land prior to the Lands Use Act owned by the Federal Government, or any of its agents, parastatals shall continue to be vested in the Federal Government, The Army is giving Edo state the land, a Governor cannot revoke the C of O of a Federal Government property so says the provisions of The Lands Use Act 1978, unless for overriding public interest or purposes, which must be of mutual agreement.

Just leave them. We just pray that their state will be run same way Obaseki is running Edo State now to the extent that even the PDP which accentuated the Edo no be Lagos slogan is currently suggesting a Lagos blueprint for Obaseki to borrow in tackling the all time high insecurity in the State.

Where did I state the land use act? Section 6 (1) of the limitation law of Bendel state, 1976 as applicable in Edo state quotes inter- alia " no action shall be brought by the state to recover any land after the expiration of 30years from the date on which the right of action accrued to the state"
