You see why i always support going against a coach's plan if its not helping. Na who field know how as e dey hot. That Ramsdale Save is enough to trust we have a good Leno replacement. He should have started Laca.

Pls who else will join me to conclude that Arteta is piss poor at planning against another team's tactics?

Its so obvious to me. Like BA played exact same tactic for 90 without as much as a challenge in halting their strides?? Especially that Cucurella guy.

Arteta need do better. That's what makes a good coach. You plan to the weaknesses and if they are exploiting, you figure a way to halt it. It can go side by side with whatever plan to attack is. I'm still laughing at that Tierney moment. A team that will make Tierney do 90mins defending go soon come. Lol. See how they made Tomi stay back with their own 3.

Poor game for Partey and Lokonga. Good one for Ramsdale and Smith. The rest were average.

I was expecting him to double up on cucurella, then remove auba
Ódegaard didn't do anything wrong he should have introduced another midfielder to add up to the midfield and ódegaard will double up with Tomi
Arteta no be manager abeg he didn't learn anything from pep, he's poor
The only changes he made was more pressing and play from back which didn't work.
Only Smith was trying to drive in, lonkonga tried in helping Tierney
Partey was average today, I was just thinking if bissouma played nothing for partey today

They won almost all their one on one challenge. One of the scariest days for Arteta.

None of our youngsters are good in positioning for Any CK, with defenders getting a whooping 80% touches compared to the rest of the team combined. Poor setpiece planning.

How Arteta will relish this 1point.

Man did nothing to take pressure off from a Defence that were always on the backfoot. He should have increased Presence in Midfield and set offside traps. Even BA set for us sef. You're right, this guy just go mark register for Pep side abeg. Or maybe he needs the moneybag like Pep to make a difference.

As for that midfield solution i expected someone like Elneny, don't be shocked. Yeah back passes but he does well in settling a rushing opponent. But who will then be sacrificed? Saka? Auba?

If Xhaka was available, i know half of us would believe he'd have gotten a red for clumsy tackle. But i think Lokonga and Partey is a no no IMO going forward.

IMO, AMN should have been introduced earlier instead of bringing in Pepe. Then we should have reverted to 4-3-3 with Laca also replacing Auba... I think the game would have changed for better.

This is the wrongest match for those two to gel. I told you how our test with Brighton starts this week cos of how they play and not crystal palace. I still feel with time those two will blend(remember this is their first game together). Crystal palace will be a perfect opportunity for the two to get their game better, not Brighton and certainly not Aston Villa.

I love how lokonga played, but partey was off the pace, with more game time those two will understand themselves

Arsenal women continued their dominant start to the WSL by defeating Aston Villa by 4-0 away from home. K. Little continued with her goal scoring form with a brace while Iwabuchi and McCabe each scored one. They sit on top of the WSL table and face Barcelona on Tuesday.

Arsenal U-23 recorded an impressive 3-0 home victory over Brighton. A brace from Balogun and one goal from O. M Hand ensured we got all 3 points. Arsenal U-23 currently sit 2nd on the log, behind City by 1 point. They face Bournemouth in the next fixture.

The guy was really good at the Olympics. As a LWB he will disturb any team. He is more like a hardworking left winger than an attacking left back.

Yesterday match proved that there are some games Lacazette can play and there are some games Auba can play. Ystdy Auba was anonymous, but the introduction of lacazette made arsenal get a foothold of the game as he tends to drop deep and combine with the midfielders.
Another conundrum is Pepe, at least laca brought an effect, but I don't see what pepe brings to this side to be honest, I dunno if it's the right wing he plays or that he's not just in sync with his co-attackers. I hope Saka injury isn't serious cos he and ESR got those two wings locked down and Auba at top 9 is good(seeing him on the wing is sickening). Any injury to any of our two wingers might be a problem cos I don't see pepe doing wonders for the time being.

Who also noticed, wen pepe went to the right and saka went to the left, both wings got shut down completely?. Time and time again have proved saka plays better on the right and pepe plays potentially better on the left. Is it not better for Arteta to at least keep one wing working instead of killing our two wings with wrong positioning??

Shout out to our defence(esp Gabriel and White). The thing about tomiyasu ystdy is that even tho he was beaten time and again, he never backed away or backed down. That's the attitude of a champion I loved cos if he did otherwise, I'm sure a goal would have sufficed.

Still hoping for lokonga and Partey partnership. Their individual attributes esp how they progress the ball, gives that forward pass and still make tackles is what I love in them. Hoping for their blending and we'll have that midfield on a lockdown.

Shout out to ramdale... Still proving while he ousted Leno to the no1 spot.

ESR also, what a great game.

I dunno if it's just me, but that push on ESR in the penalty box looks like a foul. I know there's no more soft foul for penalties(which I clearly agree with), but that doesn't look like a soft foul to me as ESR was clearly pushed and shoved.

Anyways, positive is another clean sheet and that our defence is good (esp aerially). Hope for improved attack after the break

I clearly didn't expect their tactic would flourish against us. But Lallana bossed that middle.

I don't care about time for gelling together, cos if it was a matter of understanding or compliment each other, it would be different. But both were unable to do their individual part yesternight. Then together again,no connection. I'd put more on Partey tho. Lokonga really helped Tierney, compare to the Tomiyasu side with Partey. If Arteta have a Lallana, I'd say we got gold. He's so good.

This could work truly. Auba has 6 touches. Same as Laca under 15mins. That wasn't Auba's game truly.

A testament to the fact that Arteta isn't doing his job when it comes to Opponents.

You are spot on on tomiyasu he didn't give up, that's a good sign
There was a time arsenal made a sub, the look on his face suggested maybe he was about to be yank off.
I'm sure he knows yesterday performance wasn't his best he will surely come back stronger

This is the first time partey and lokonga are playing together if I'm not mistaken. You can't just say the two personnel don't have understanding based on one match and especially a match Partey particularly was sub par

Sanchez will be a free agent this coming January.

I'd take him back, especially if his wage isn't going to be a bottleneck. That LW side needs him. What do you think?

Even tho I love Sanchez to the core, but I won't advice we take him back on a normals, but seeing that Pepe can't even beat a barn door I might.

Tbh, I'm at a cross here cos I want to fully access arsenal wings issue fully if pepe plays on the left and saka plays on the right but Arteta isn't just seeing it. If pepe still plays the nonsense he do play on the right on the left, then I'll take a low wage Sanchez in a heartbeat

For your own sanity, stop taking shearer and Owen serious
Those 2 mofos hate anything arsenal and will rather put emotions when judging matches against us.

Maybe arsenal steal their trophies we don't know

Not that i take him that serious, but i know he does get it as close as possible, no doubt. A game against Arsenal isn't going to make me think he's bias na. Cucu did well. Anyways, i get your point.

Its even Owen I'd never take serious ever.

He's not Benteke or Sanogo or Frimpong na. Shuu.

Besides he is still active and will make things easier for Arteta as he still has that winning games factor in his blood. I don't like the Wingers situation at Emirates any more than you, but if he available, I'd take him. Mediocrity?? Okay o.

Exactly! I won't mind a Second Option available for the wings if the first isn't working. Especially as Afcon is nearby and Pepe will be gone. I think it ticks all boxes to me. A lil skeptical, but we may just need him.

If he still has that fiery hunger and passion, I'd take him. Especially considering the poor form of Pepe and the fact that AFCON is around the corner. Apart from his ball playing skills, one thing I admire about him is his transmissible passion bug. But where does this leaves Martinelli?

We need to start playing Martinelli in the CF position. We have drifted away from playing him in his best/ natural position to now playing him as a winger, consequently, the kid has lost a lot of his confidence.
