Good evening house, I noticed at 7:16 pm today, i saw many debit alerts on my phone. The most surprising of it all was I'm having a negative balance of -#15000 in my account which is unlike banks.
Could it be as a result of what is happening to social media?
I'm using access bank and the customer care is not going through and my account officer is not responding. Who else is experiencing this?

Its the accumulated monthly charges on your account which the banks would take once in every month or within first 4 days of the following month, if you don't have sufficient funds up till the last day of the preceeding month. You're seeing that negative balance because you didn't have sufficient money in your account as at the time the money was taken.

Please block your ATM card. If you use Access More app, you can easily block the card. I haven't used ATM card for over 3 months now. I was having 2naira credit and debit Everytime. I enquired from my bank and they said the card has been compromised. I had to block all the cards I use.

Same with my Keystone Bank acct.

What are the responsibilities of Nigerian banks
to their customer's whose bank account has been compromised or hacked?

I'm asking because, in the country where I'm domiciled, once you report your bank debit or credit card missing or an unauthorized withdrawals from your bank account, the bank quickly disable the card's in question and then set up an internal investigation which can be for 10 business day's.

At the conclusion of their internal investigation and it is obvious you didn't authorized those withdrawals, a new card would be sent to you and the bank takes the hit by crediting your account back with the exact funds that was taken out from your account without your consent.

What's does Nigerian banks do in a similar scenario?
