Apparently we have too much urgent problem and the emergency meeting shouldn't have VAT as a priority, it is only people that have settled more crucial problem that would discuss Tax. These are some issues that are more pressing than VAT to South East 1. The Release or transparent trial of IPOB leader (Mazi Nnandi Kanu): When Everyone was feeling Kanu, Many people mostly non Igbos cheered and admired his courage and like what happened with Nzeogwu, when it all got terrible they all, including Midwest abandoned Ndigbo in a case that did not even happen in our core region, as at today ndigbo is feeling the heat of Kanus incarceration if they want us to join the VAT fight, they should join the sit at home every Monday. 2. Anambra Election: We keep pleading with agitating grieving parties to be calm and let Anambra election hold peacefully and if they won't let them accept any candidate that comes out of unpopular voting. Anambra is a very crucial State to the Igbo Nation and hijacking the electoral process in Anambra would send a very terrible signal, we still need the same INEC to conduct even the Biafran referendum and we need confidence to win 2023 Igbo presidency. 3. Ebonyi International Airport Completion We all know that Ebonyi is the youngest state in the South East, the last born state had been working really hard under the great leadership of Dave Umahi, if they need bailouts to finish the project, the rest of the South East leaders should join hands in pleading alongside the Ebonyi State Governor on the presidency to intervene or do a little fundraising for Ebonyi our youngest state or asign a no interest loan. 4. 2023 Igbo PDP presidential candidate: It should be considered that not only South East Igbos should represent AlaIgbo in the presidency, South South Igbos excluding Ikwerre or strictly Wike Should be considered, Wike shouldn't come anywhere near Igbo slot as that would personally make me vote another party, Wike lost my respect the day he lost sensitivity to Obigbo plights and referred to Igbos as migrants in indigenous Rivers State. 5. Boundary Readjustment: Irrespective of how Stupid and Hopeless Uzodimma is, South East leaders should as a matter of urgency support his fight on the boundary readjustment, and Despite Okezie Ikpazu being PDP, he should join in the Suit Against Rivers State to make sure that all Abia and Imo communities illegally ceded to other states should be added back so that kits can reunite with their kins. Ndigbo, Onye Oku Na Agba Ulo Ya Adighi Achu Oke (He whose house is on fire does not pursue VAT sorry RAT) |

richmond500:Government is complex, so if they succeed or not in VAT, but monday is gone in the East won't that impact VAT more, people may or may not like Kanu as an individual but he currently represents an economic importance, if the rest of the south reject FG collecting VAT isn't it better to make the East viable so that we can remit better to the national purse, does Kanu's continud stay in incarceration look good if the East is the future. |
| Re: 5 Pressing South East Issues Bigger Than Debating VAT by richmond500: 8:45am On Oct 05, 2021 |
AlexBells:which economic importance. Thanks to him and his useless swines, people are getting killed, business is destroyed and every monday become useless. |
| Re: 5 Pressing South East Issues Bigger Than Debating VAT by AlexBells(op): 8:51am On Oct 05, 2021 |
richmond500:With the Resolve of Other Southern governors on VAT, it shows that the East is the true believer of one Nigeria, so FG could use federal might to make the East more viable by relocating most oil firm headquarters to Imo after readjusting the boundary. Building a port in Azumini to serve Imo and Abia and Onitcha to serve Abambra and Enugu, prioritising Eastern airports and funding Aba, Onitsha, Nsukka to international market standards. The East can serve the entire North anything just a little boundary adjustment and economic stimulus and we are good, Kanu represents a set back in the emerging Eastern/Northern Honeymoon the reunion of friends turned fore. |

Lol! Anambra election is sacrosanct. Iponk is non issue in respect of the election. Even the shooters know. The next governor has been arranged and sealed! Even the shooters know. Write it somewhere. The shooters, please and please get your amunitions ready, dress up well and get ready to meet Satan on 6th November, for that day is the judgement day of UGM. Ensure you bring your best guns, bombs and missile lunchers. You need to die like brave men. Afterall you're brave shooters ![]() You will have a lot of story to tell Satan in hell that day. |

The most important issue that needs to be tackeled head on right now is the issue of the federal government created UGM that is being popularized by the Lagos-Ibadam expressway end of Nigerias gutter press. These so called unknown gunmen are nothing but state sponsored hoodlums desperate to force violence and disorder in the South East. The manner and speed a military exercise was announced just days of some gorry and gruesome shootings in the East should alarm the good minded. A script is being played here and they're using the headsof our illustrious sons as cannon fodders.. |

Scarfin:I think the particular problem with you is emphasising the shooters instead of the looters which constitute the bigger problem including the looters inciting the shooters |

Getting a fair and transparent trial for Kanu is a right and must be demanded under our laws. The signal coming out of Anambra is not good at all. Be that as it may, election will hold in Anambra State, which I believe is better than the proclamation of a State of Emergency which will be the only option left for the President, should election not hold. INEC does not have the legal power to conduct a referendum to determine self-determination. Only the NASS can help there. Boundary disputes are delicate issues and must be handled carefully. The Imo-Rivers issue is before the Court, little can be done for now. Abia need not join the suit because the State has even more serious disputes wrt boundaries than Imo, especially on the Akwa Ibom & Cross-River sides. On the Igbo Presidency issue, there are Igbos in almost all political parties, and this is serious diplomacy. Insisting Wike should not partake in the PDP seat, if need be, is almost impossible. The question should be what did SE leaders and indeed Ohanaeze do when it was alleged Wike said what he said. Perhaps, they did something we do not know, perhaps not. Join the VAT issue or not, the Court judgement will affect the SE States and indeed all other States, good or bad. What is needed most importantly in the SE today is Security, so that they can do their business and thrive as they always do. |

Number 1 is about VAT while number 2 is about Anambra election. How should insecurities in Imo, Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi be handled? |
| Re: 5 Pressing South East Issues Bigger Than Debating VAT by AlexBells(op): 9:50am On Oct 05, 2021 |
helinues:Number 1 is about Nnamdi Kanu which had polarised AlaIgbo with internal and divisive insecurity, the continued incarceration of Kanu is a security threat to the East as aggrieved people use violent protests thereby creating a dangerous security atmosphere. No 2. Is about insecurity as some aggrieved element had protested that Anambra election would not hold if their leader remains in illegal incarceration, it is unconstitutional to detain Kanu wothout trial and this is a threat to his fundamental human right and as Igbo who leaves in the South East, the Monday sit at home is a threat to my freedom of movement and also my security, in this case I think our governors should deliberate more on that, and this is a security challenge. Is Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi not part of the East? |

AlexBells:what is the definition of mostly non igbos tgat u are talking about? Who are the non igbos that cheered nnamdi kanu Up? We know your game n we understand your victim mentality, no time now u will start saying nnamdi kanu is fighting for all Nigerians n u will start saying they betrayed him. Irrespective of your definition of non igbos just know yorubas weren't part of your fraud right from the onset n u can see how oduduwa agitators made it clear that they aren't part of ipob |
