I don’t think posting an indigene who understands Anambra terrain and security challenge is rational here cos the agitation is against the state (Nigeria) and not the usual criminal activities within the state of Anambra.
The agitation by IPOB against the nation has the sympathy and support of many of the people living within Anambra state. It will be tactically and psychologically impossible for an indigene as commissioner of police of the state to be ruthless against his people.

An indigene posted as a commissioner isn’t advisable cos of the security of the man and his family members living within the state.

You have a point.

It's a welcome development.

The idea is for peace to be restored back in Anambra state

But he shouldn't start using the "The language they understand" theory ooo.

He should be more constructive in his approach.

Why not post an indigene who understands Anambra terrain and security challenges as CP.

This is the 4th CP serving in Anambra in a space of 2years.

Some things are better managed by an insider.

An indegine may easily be compromised. But a foreigner, before you get used to him and start creating a high level of closeness with him he's done his job to a large extent and when you're about being his friend he will be transferred this pattern helps them to perform better. This isn't about indigene but doing the job in the most effective way

Signs of cluelessness in leadership, continue using the same method since 1960,ruthlessness without any tangible effect over the years. Why not change method, why not engage in dialogue? During the day's of militancy in the Niger delta region, the president as at that time, offered amnesty and it works like magic, can't our today leaders think of other majors to engage this boys? If we can offer repentance to boko haram whose course were not genuine, why are we finding it difficult to engage people with genuine course peacefully?

Hope the special forces get to work, why can’t I police have drones in the state to monitor things from the air and provide quick response. Drones that are being sold in shoprite and yet the police don’t have. They should give me the money to go and buy drones for them in shoprite

oga my opinion is basically to the people in government and their priorities, we are not are arguing what is right or wrong any more in this country, because the government is all shades of wrong, they brought this agitation to a whole new height because of their double standard approach. The eastern region have been known to be very peaceful.

When Niger /Delta issue was at it peak in 2007 , peace was achieved not by force but by talking and meeting their demands in middle way .
When Niger / Delta Avenger was blowing oil pipes Osibanjo talked to them and their leaders and the issue stopped .
There is no where in the world where you use force to achieve peace , what this government could have done is to call this people talk to them , they are human being they will reason, tell the government what they want and the government also tell them where he stands and at the end meet at the middle . This will stop shedding of blood, properties will be safe .
there is no need to discuss peace with a scanty number of criminals. Let the fight since they have the weapons cheesy

And you expect this one to any better huh think again, it's that difficult to control people who don't respect you, in Anambra now boys scout is even better than police and the worst thing that can happen now is to push the masses to wall like they did in imo it's will be more blood on both side.

And you think a new CP who is not from Igbo land would make any difference? What these policemen and military men would do in Anambra would determine how they are viewed by people from SE. This operation would either achieve nothing or add more sympathizers to IPOB. We have not forgotten what happened in Obigbo and Orlu.

Thank you. The reason why boko haram & banditary is festering since Buhari became president is because its difficult for a sympathetic muslim president, IG of police & COAS to take the battle to the terrorists who are their muslim brothers. Remember, Buhari was very critical of Jonathan when he described the war against bh as war against the north.
