I watched the video so that you don't have to. Quite frankly it was as if the video was filmed on a potato, not clear at all . It appears that a likely mentally deranged man wearing a long robe that appears to have be made from Biafran flag was filmed on very poor quality video device from a distance of about 60ft and even the camera person who filmed it and was able to see the man in person clearer and others nearby did not appear to think the man was any recognisable celebrity. Cameraman or someone nearby him was shouting " look what they are doing to that man" in Igbo language. The man appeared to be driving some sort of private bus and clearly was stopped by soldiers who eventually was seen dragging him whilst he was apparently refusing to cooperate. The video was not only very poor clarity but the camera was not steady and orientated in the right direction throughout, so it was really impossible to see properly the altercation between the soldiers and the man. At onetime a small group of youths appeared to advance towards the soldiers, perhaps for a better look but quickly dispersed after they fired a couple of warning shots. 2 Likes 1 Share |

These fools in the army fell for his trap. He wanted them to get him publicly. Now, he's seen as an hero. What should have been done was to arrest him in a civil manner and even joke with him, then tell him he's arrested but would be released when his paperwork is in order and this can only be done at their base. When he gets to the base, they then teach him a lesson and release him. Too many blockheads in the military. I don't want Chiwetalu to complain about beatings. In sane climes he would be watched closely by the service personnel to be sure he isn't a security threat, then ignored if they found he was just fooling around. But the Nigerian military don't know that discipline in military terms means maintaining the highest professionalism and restraint in the face of provocation. To them discipline means when your superior officer asks you to slap your mother, you go ahead and slap her. |
