The first food I prepared was vegetable/waterleaf soup.. So I woke up on morning and started crying..then I climbed my mother's back and took her to the market.. I got all the ingredients.. fish, meat, ponmo, stockfish,Fresh Vegetables (Ugwu) and waterleaf and the rest.. When we got home I cut the leaves,I steamed the meat and fish and cut onions. Then I put oil on fire and added the cut waterleaf and started frying with my onions.. After some minutes I added seasonings to taste, grinded crayfish and my meat/fish stock.. After some minutes I added the meat and fish with my periwinkles then lastly the vegetable.. Everyone enjoyed the soup. I did all these at 1year.. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Longsleeve: Mine definitely burnt at the bottom the first time around but that was more down to my lack of competence at the time than me trying to get a bottom-pot effect. Moreover, I thought the commonly-asserted difference between jollof and jellof is that the latter is the S.E. rendering (with crayfish at the least) and jollof is the normal/party-ish kind. Wetin concern bottom-pot rice with the jollof/jellof distinction? |

mariahAngel: Very interesting. But was the palm fruit pounded in the Odo with the aka of the Odo? And how can you be so sure it was delicious let alone using the adverb "most" Well, my first was Nasco quality cornflakes.. 1 Like |

duchaB: Yes. We had those gigantic mortars and pestles back then because my grandparents preferred hand pressed palm oil to the one extracted with a machine, so it was a whole lot of work. And how can you be so sure it was delicious let alone using the adverb "most" I was sure because they enjoyed it. Your own does not count in the least. |
