I have been mobilized by a member here to build this beautiful and yet simple gate.

It should be 14ft wide with the 3ft pedestrian walk built into it. There's no much space for it to be hanged apart.


The delivery timeline is three weeks.

My goal is to replicate the gate by at least 98%.

The materials for the job will be arriving at my workshop later this morning

I need contract

I haven't been able to start working on the gate because I travelled to another state for a job.

Came in last night and decided to start working on it today cause there maybe another restrictions of movement tomorrow. I also need to make up for the lost times.

First we needed to measure the dimensions of the gate to ensure it's up to desired height and width.

Then we made the curve at the top. You may not know it but making the ark needs experienced hands and skill.

After that, I had to make provision for a 3ft gate embedded into this.

Reason for doing that is because the client doesn't have much space in the compound to fit that one differently.

this gate goes for 500,000

But with wrought iron materials,it goes for 800,000

We have started working today after the rain delayed the starting time

As the day ended, work was completed at the back of the gate and it was turned over

More pictures and then the position of the smaller gate

Lots of issues came up and I couldn't keep up with updating this thread.

As at today, the gate is completed.

I will upload as much pictures as I can to show the process of making the gate


First picture was when the designs were made and the later when it was welded

Then the finishings and cleaning came

Then came the painting. It took lots of stress but I prevailed

After the first and base color was applied, I applied the facial color

The client observed that the space between the tops arrows to be too wide.

He drew my attention to it and the security lapse it might cause. So this morning, I bought more of those and added to the gate

I wasn't satisfied with the color of the gate and I had to try lots of things to see what will look best

Personally I saw that the colors were off by more than a mile and even the client raised the issue.

So I did something else

This wasn't really what I like so I did something else.

This color was later approved by the client and that's how my day ended happily

Tomorrow, I will be wrapping it with nylon cause the delivery site is very far and the road very terrible

I love this job but then I know it would look better if it were wrought iron just like the original concept was

An opportunity came up yesterday so I took this gate home for delivery. We bless God for journey mercies
