My Faith In Nigeria Remains Unshakable -Obasanjo by treesun: 8:26pm On Oct 08, 2021
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Friday, declared that his faith in a better Nigeria remains unshakable.

Obasanjo insisted that, the country would not be destroyed by the myriads of challenges confronting it.

Obasanjo disclosed this during the opening of Abeokuta Window on America held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The Abeokuta Window on America is a type of American Space located in over 150 countries worldwide set up to engage Nigerian youths in learning about American culture and politics.

The Space is set up in the youth centre of the OOPL in partnership with US consulate in Nigeria.

Delivering his keynote address at the event, Obasanjo expressed optimism that no matter what the country is currently going through, evil would not triumph over good.

The former President who was represented by the Deputy Coordinator of OOPL, Mr. Ayodele Aderinwale said, “Whatever maybe the problem or challenges currently confronting Nigeria today, I assure you that they are not problems on the attack they are actually problems on the retreat.

“My faith in Nigeria remains unshakable. My optimism about the future is resounding. Some may wonder how is the future will be rescued?

“I see hope in the determination, resilience and the indomitable spirit of Nigerians. I see hope, in their resistance when they are pushed to the wall.

“I see hope, in the zeal, commitment and courage in the face of adversity. I see hope, in the boundless and incurable optimism of young Nigerians.

“I see hope, in the willingness of Nigerian young and who are resistance with all their might the evil that are being perpetrated.

“I see hope, in the unwavering conduct and uncompromising drive of Nigerians in demanding a democratic process. I see hope, in the ingenuity and infinite creativity of the Nigerians. I see hope, in the youth and young, for our tomorrow lies in them.

“I see hope in the great potentials of the Nigerian, empowered, motivated and well led. I see hope, in the blending of experience, energy and dynamism of the old and the new.

“I see hope, in the dynamism, vibrancy and richness of our culture. And I see hope, in the commonality of humanity.”

Speaking on the importance of the Abeokuta Window on America, the U.S. Consulate Public Affairs Officer, Stephen Ibelli disclosed that, the space would offer a calendar of programmes on topics of interest designed to bring Americans and Nigerians closer together.

He noted that the space would further deepen the US – Nigerian relationship, saying no fewer than 100 youths would be engaged on weekly basis in learning about the culture, history and politics of America through books and over 300 online publications.

This is expected when you have looted so much that none of your generation shall never lack anything. If OBJ was a bike man hustling to feed his family would he have said this?

Only a wealthy or very rich Nigerian can say what OBJ is saying.

My guy wey just enter UK dey show me videos of the roasted chicken he bought for less than 2 pounds this evening. This same pounds cause 5 pounds just this morning

Because we dey night, the price don reduce.

Nah full roasted chicken o

Tell me how every British and Non British that found themselves in the UK won't be proud of been in such a country.

During the time Yardua, prices of breads do fall in the night, bakeries do sell excess bread for cheap in the night, there is no part of Lagos such a thing is happening now.

Titus Sardine that was once sold for 2 for #300 don dey almost reach #900 for just 1.

This country is a disaster.

The elites will not want Nigeria to break because they know disintegration of Nigeria will lead to a shift in paradigm.
New leaders will emerge and their influences will be watered down.
Many of the elites in every region will loose their voice and power because many will be freed from age long mental shackles because of the dawning of a new day, a new order and a new rule.
For that reason they wouldn't want to see Nigeria disintegrate.
Even those elites that pretend to support secession are covertly working against it, some of them chose to sit on the fence so as not to be caught offguard when the dangling testicles of the ram finally fall or perhaps otherwise.
They are not choosing side, they don't want to be perspected as Judas among their kinsmen yet they don't want to fall out with other elitist "One Nigerianists" so they would rather "siddon look" without taking sides.
Each tribe, region and group calling for secession have these set of "siddon look" people within them. You know them, you see them, they are not hiding.

Only poor minded people want Nigeria to separate, “No society can surely be flourishing and happy, of which the far greater part of the members are poor and miserable, a bad tree can never yield good fruits, separation can only produce more dysfunctional miserable states. I.e. Biafra & Oduduwa, the country names may change, but the undisciplined people remain the same.

I just said it now. Honestly during the regime of Obasanjo this unrulinessn can never happen. If you do anyhow you see anyhow. So it seems Nigeria is safe in the hands of Yoruba leaders given thier bravery tactics to wrestle down power from the terrorists and thier vast economic experience in handling economic matters. I pray a Yoruba man clinch the power again, someone like osinbajo

The best thing the Naija govt could do now is giving the IPOB their Biafra nation. I know secession does not come so easy but the govt should just try & let these people go. I've had enough of their victim games/cries to the brim.
