I know that out of this 5.9 tr., about 2.4tr has been earmarked by our Pen Robber leaders to be loot..d. Padded fund.

Buhari promised to increase Nigerias' education budget by 50% in this year's budget... I expect the total allocation should be around 8trn naira... So that even his children maiming people across the country can have access to education even in their bushes...

Education is the way forward. I concur with the percentage allocated to the education sector. 1.29trillion if judiciously use the Impact will be felt. Again, kudos Mr. President.

Sincerely there is serious problem with the Nigerian politicians.

On the surface, these allocationa would look like they mean well for the citizens but underneath they simply plan to rob us for their 2022 Campaigns by looting Massively and then campaigning and keeping the rest as Fall back option in case they failed they would still have enough to be driving bigger cars and living larger than even now.

All this huge allocation where is it actually going to? because this fund is not reflecting in any of our sectors in Nigeria.

The north will continue to be the problem of this country, if not for the bokoharam, kidnapping and banditory which their youths are using as amnesty this huge amount would not have been needed to go for defense in the first place

That defense and infrastructure money no dey comot for cabal pocket. Na their share be that. And the education part na to slash am dey give them small small anytime they agitate to go on strike

Just imagine how much was allocated for education, and health sectoo?.All this and almost all our leaders are abroad on medical tour.

After seeing this news wait until 2030 you will still be hearing and seeing bad infrastructure, worse educational system and lack of security, i am not wishing Nigeria bad luck but there are some elements of looters who won’t allow the country to grow such leaders and public office holders need to be totally remove from helm of affairs not until we do that Nigeria is not going anywhere

Out of that amount, 875 billion is for recurrent expenditures from the ministry of education alone. How much is then left ti share between UBE and TETFUND. I was happy until I saw that too.

Nigeria's budget and budget structures....Always good on Paper, although figures not enough...but Zero implementation and impact are always the problem.

From this budget, for example, health sector.....all appears to be captured, including harzard allowance for health works....Somehow, we will still see Drs going on strike because of hazard allowance , money will not be released..There is no money is what they say.

Bros cool down....

1. Budget is a statement of intent... it is not physical money
2. There is no Zero implementation anywhere. Govts (Fed. & States) get budget performance stats released by agencies like NBS, BugdIT etc
3. You will still have to meet a substantial revenue targets before monies promised in the budget can be released. When these critical needs cannot wait for revenues to be met and they need to be addressed immediately, then such deficits are funded with loans, bonds etc...

Now I believe the conversation more beneficial for us is indicated in your second paragraph. We need to access the adequacy of this budget to meet present needs. Is ~N10tr enough for the critical sector and growth needs. While I am happy that Health, Education and Defense have been allocated significant portion, I would have loved the 3 + Infrastructure to take about 50% of the budget. On health we need to ramp up in facilities, increase in training and churn of health professionals, increase in pay (A doctor must earn equivalent to a bank (Zenith, GTBank, Access etc.) manager). PHC's must continue to grow like Redeem churches. Health Insurance Schemes must be revamped and accelerated.

On Infrastructure - Roads and Trains are priority. Lagos -Calabar Coastal Rail must start.

On education - I believe we should continue on little steps. Teachers wages should be baselined to banks and telcos mid-level. Teachers should go through a highly competitive certification program like US & Europe, such that those with certification should earn salaries competitive with other sectors. States UBEC funding should be deducted at source, no questions asked....
