Hello everyone, I'm planning towards relocating to Canada using Express Entry. I'm self employed; a website designer, 31 years old and recently married. I have a Bsc degree, same with my wife. My wife works 9 - 5.

I'm looking to find a way to boost my points and increase my eligibility. What certification or diploma course do you think I can do to boost my points?
I'll be looking forward to your advice.
Thanks a lot.

Since you're a web designer, search no more, just enroll for the next BCS Certificate in IT... You'll be writing exams on courses you're familiar with, Software Development, Information Systems and Computer Network Technology. This Certificate with your BSc will be evaluated as 2 or more Certificates which will significantly boost your points.

Thanks so much for this. I'll start working towards the certification. I Googled it and learnt the exams hold in April and October. The registration for October has passed so I'll start prepping for April.
Cheers!

100% correct.

Use that for ECA and all other EE-FSW processes, as it's her current identity. Any institution that needs to link the two names may ask for marriage certificate as proof.
Thank you so much. God bless

Hello all, URGENT PLS

Please for those that have recently applied for UK police certificate, how did you go about it? Was the application done online or by post? I learnt that it is by post if done from Nigeria , is it true? How long did it take to get to them using NIPOST? Thanks

ILETS finally aced after third attempt.
1 LRSW 8.5,8,7.5,6.5
2,LRSW 6.5, 9,6.5,7
3 LRSW 9,8,7.5,7

My advice
If you continue to score 6.5 in your writing, don’t go and waste money again. I would advise you to employ the use of a professional who knows the marking criteria to correct your essays , once you know how they mark these exams you will know how to pass easily. Shalom!!!

read page 1 to get the process and requirements. I suspect you are on the website of one of those agents who will only take your money. Nothing like CV in express entry biko.

Boss, just a quick question,
can a PhD holder in Natural science course(chemistry) claims points from skill type A upon his graduation in Canada?
Thanks boss.

you clearly have not read page 1. Education and work experience are different things. Work experience alone determines noc and skill level not education. Upon graduation if you have no previous experience then you don’t qualify for pr. You have to work first with the post graduate permit.

You can complete and submit the form online. You choose to receive it through Royal mail( through NIPOST) or through registered mail which is costlier. Through NIPOST it should be within 10-20days depending on your location in Nigeria.

Good Morning Guys,

I am 29 years old, with HND in Food Science & Technology. Both HND & ND has been evaluated by WES for the purpose of Canadian PR.

I have IELTS score of LRWS 8,8,7.5,7, though currently planning to take TEF.

I currently work has a bank teller/customer service officer for more than 3 years but I learn't that this doesnt count towards work experience.

I have worked as a Production Officer In a Food Industry (2 years) and also has A teacher during NYSC.

Please, I need advise

Bro, jump into the pool..The 2yrs work experience and NYSC should give you 3yrs which gives Max. Score..There should be no need for TEF as age is still on your side..You can try maxing out your IELTS

Apply online. When ready, the PCC will be sent to a postal address, which can be a postal address of a friend/relative in the UK, who can then scan the PCC to you.

You may want to ask the same friend/relative to complete the forms and pay for you (third party) or use a VPN...... Nigeria IP addresses apparently do not work for the payment portal (Worldpay)....... try sha.

I wouldn't advise NIPOST......just a personal phobia.

Good evening good people. A very quick one, I’m currently doing my msc. I will like to know if there is anyway around work experience. All my work experience is more of hustle here and there and mostly the blue collar type. I know this japa needs work experience in certain fields. I need your views as regard work experience.
Pof is ready
Writing ielts soon
Wife is taking Tef soon (she is bilingual)
I’m almost done with my msc as well.
From the calculator we realized 473 point.

My major concern is the work experience.

from this profile your wife will be the primary applicant, if she has work experience then its fine. Spouse work experience is not relevant for express entry unless it was gotten in Canada.

Thank you for your input. The only reason she can’t be primary applicant is because she only posses OND and bachelor degree. With her age, Don’t think it’s logical for her to start msc. ( aunty don’t want to do anything academics anymore) as for her work experience she is running her own business. We are both worried about “work experience”

mastravel:

Your skilled work experience must be in the same type of job (have the same NOC) as the job you want to use for your immigration application (called your primary occupation)

• Must be within the last 10 years.
• Paid work (have been paid wages or earned commission. (volunteer work or unpaid internships don’t count)
• At least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week)—you can meet this in a few different ways:
Part-time or full-time.

Read page one of this thread for more info.

Thanks I’m grateful

Thank you for the head up. Did a rough calculation, using her as a primary applicant makes the score soar higher (around 470 at minimal on a bad day for average Tef and ielts score). This is just her writing only tef forgetting ielts for her. Thanks once again.
