It's better to die for a crime than to die because u look good.

Things like this can't happen in US as long as u comply with the police which the op did.

What a terrible ordeal. The police did a similar thing to my sister in Port-Harcourt. They came to a row of shops and picked everyone in their shops. Took them to an uncompleted building instead of a police station and found those that had ATM cards with them.
Made the rest transfer different amounts of money to the ones that had cards and took them to the ATM for withdrawal before they were released.

That Bolt driver is your prime suspect. That was an "agbata eke" hustle they pulled on you.

Hold the Bolt guy.

Hello bro. Be sure of what you are saying. Which one is bolt driver again?

It would be a better idea if we all look at the issue critically before pushing blames.

Is the police suppose to act that way in the first place?

End sars was a child play. The harassment is still going on especially in Benin. Many people who had no one to call are still in suffering.

Nigerian police are worse than armed robbers, that's why people hardly pity them when they get killed

I swear those Benin police are worse than the devil. One my way back from Lagos on Thursday, one bastard police extorted me of 32k on spurious charges. I had to pay because he was ready to keep me there till nightfall and I was on my way to Imo State

The Bolt driver is the prime suspect. Nigerians should be very careful of Bolt , Uber and even Yellow cabs.

Remember they didn't keep your record and statement in that station. If by chance you died. No trace as they would all deny.

That Bolt driver is the prime suspect.

Then the policeman is what?

You can only have a prime suspect when the criminal is unknown.

So should we leave the criminal and go after another person cos he is the “prime suspect”?

The police accused him falsely of money laundering and instead of doing the right thing if he was guilty, they demanded bribe so as to release him for him to go and continue the false money laundering scheme they accused him of
Now, he was released because he knew someone but the same policemen would not be brought to book. They'll look for another victim

How will the Police ever learn if we don't hold them responsible.

It is fear and begging that emboldens police to intimidate people.
Since the day I begged an officer to heaven and back over an issue he could have easily overlooked and he outrightly refused.
I now look them eye to eye and give them back hot and make sure I let them know I know my rights. Since then I have known peace.
It can go sideways, but it's a gamble I rather take than become their maga.
