Not at all

The poster was sitting at the back seat of the Bolt car. That is the quickest way they profile people by police.

My advice to young guys is to if possible sit with Bolt drivers in the front seat if you are journeying alone with the driver. It saves you and the driver from some harassment both from police officers, VIOs and miscreants.

Once you balance at the back as the car owner, you attract all kinds of attention.

You probably didn't read his account. It was when they stopped the car that he was asked to go to the back seat. He was probably set up by the bolt man...they work together sometimes...

A good number of Edo people are extremely wicked. Many of them in the Police and similar agencies are worse than terrorists. Their love of money at all and at any cost is nothing but demonic.

Wow! Had a similar experience in abuja around 2013. I paid for some boulders to be supplied to a construction company at katampe. On the day we were to load after paying to and fro for an excavator and about 7 trucks, this policemen from hell numbering about 12 came to site and picked everyone they saw to gwarimpa station claiming that the boulders were illegally blasted. I drove down to their station and pleaded that they should release everyone and hold me and that I will take them to the guy who blasted and sold the boulders to me ..to cut a long story short, we were there from morning till 6pm when they locked us up. At that point i had make up my mind not to give them a dime from
My mobilization fee. Then came an opportunity of escape.. The owner of the trucks came to bail his drivers at about 11pm and they couldn't let them go with out me and so i was released and asked to report back to them the following morning. Na so God catch them. I refused to go back to them the next day and even till this day and when the IPO called me the next day I insulted him like mad. Police? They can be very annoying.

If you haven't experienced this please don't ever balme anyone that wants out of Nigeria.

My cousin has experienced this first hand. We spent 200k to get him out. No crime or whatsoever committed.

Congratulations to you.
But what happens to someone who does not know an AIG.
That's how innocent people would just rot in jail, or be killed. I shed tears reading this. There's no hope for the common man.

I had a similar encounter with area c police.

Me and my friends were with a son of a former head of state on our way to the club at about 11pm when we encountered these daredevil looking policemen in a check point, they immediately ordered us to come down from the vehicle.
After checking the vehicle without finding any incriminating thing they now took us to their station and wanted to make us to write statement which we declined.
They started threatening to deal with us if we don't give them 100k with the allegations of smuggling tokumbo, I quietly told my guy, which is the son of the former head of state to introduce himself to save us these unnecessary harassment, my guy replied me that over his dead body will the police know who he was that if they know him they may decide to kidnap us for Ransom.

At about 1pm when their attention were now on another group of guys they brought to the station I quietly put a call across to my guy's mum. Because my guy mum used to call me any time we got out, to help protect him as she sees me as more mature than his son. Moreover, my guy is entitle to about 2 soldiers for his security but he don't like it when those military guys move with us.
Some few minutes after I made the call, the sitting minister of police affair immediately put a call across to me and ask where we were, he now told me to remain calm. After then I now saw the DPO of the station running toward us with singlet and a short wrapper around his waist. That was around 2am in the night.

When he got to where we were he now pointed at the landcruiser jeep and asked where are the people that brought this car, he then ran towards us and knelt and started pleading that we should forgive his boys.

After then he ran inside the station and brought an empty half gallon where there were numerous keys, poured them on the floor and told us to locate our key.
We now took our key and drove off to silverbed galarier to do our own thing

This is my problem with police.

It is all dependent on chance.

Last time, I had to stop driving normal car and drove one rundown bus to avoid them stopping me every minute.

Before I give my prophecy on the evil that will befall the Nigerian police I want to sound this warning to everyone listening.

We are living in perilous times, the only difference between a police officer and an armed robber or kidnapper is the uniform and the official office they operate from therefore I will encourage that every Nigerian does the following.

1. Delete financial transactions from your phone, and also delete text messages that involves huge contracts, reminders to make transactions involving millions of cash, meetings involving money... etc.

2. If you have pictures you snapped in Europe or American delete them from your phone, you can save them on your laptop.

3. Delete WhatsApp chats that has to do with transactions involving dollars or anything about money and abroad.

4. Have a valid identity card wherever you're going.

5. Know the DPO of your local police station so in situations like this you can easily call him to help you out.

I see a second wave of protest, this one will be bloodier than that of endsars, I see the masses turning against the police force, I see blood, I see bodies of policemen and women littering every nook and cranny of the country, I see the survivors burning their uniforms.

This I have seen.

This your story is pathetic and traumatic to read.
Sorry for what you passed through.
When Nnamdi Kanu was telling people that Nigeria is a zoo, you guys were calling him names, now see the kin thing going on inside the corntree.

Shouldn't citizens sur all these useless forces after such humiliating and false accusation and detention?
Imagine what Chiwetalu Agu is been subjected to, while Gunmi is walking a free man
You spoilt your statement with Nnamdi Kanu. Even people from South East also contributed tonthe decadence in the society and IPOB or ESN is a confirmation to that as their approach is also trashy. If Southe East stands on their own today, it will be worst than a zoo. Quote me anywhere.

You mean if police stop or flag down the vehicle the bolt driver should not stop and should drive off so that the police can label him an accomplice in a situation where by the police give them a hot chase and were eventually apprehended and rider is armed or possess anything illegal.. imagine a rider that you don't know or you have never met before oo...hmmmm we actually have a lot of children on nairaland oooo

Pls always ask for forgiveness. I do bolt on weekends too and this exactly had happened to me. Got a request at Oniru shoprite to somewhere in Ikoyi. I picked up and drove out, on BIS way, a Lexus SUV just double crossed me and like 3 guys came out. I was scared but composed coz I knew I didn’t commit any traffic offense, had my complete car documents and had no contraband.

They asked me to whine down and I did told them I’m just a driver doing my job. They said they are not for me but their suspect they have been tracking. They ordered the guy into their car and two of them joined me and his gf in my car and asked me to drive to that same Alagbon.

I was shaking and one of them asked me to comport that they are not after me. We got there, I ended the trip and they were the one that paid for the trip and they even said I can go with the #300 change.

I have never seen those guys before and I don’t know them from Adam. I shred the story with my colleague on a WhatsApp platform.

So it’s very wrong for you to conclude the driver knows about it. It’s very unfair coz I have been in that shoe and I would feel extremely bad for someone to think this way.

Maybe some drivers do that but I need u to know that Uber drivers don’t determine who they will carry or where they will go. So that rubbish the idea that he might knows about it. What if you say the driver work for them and he got a request to pick an old man to Ogba. So what happens?

Uber drivers don’t dictate who they want to carry or where they want to carry the person to. Maybe possible for random cab men but rare for Uber drivera
