My cousin's 5 bedroom duplex is strictly on Solar, guy said Nigeria matter no dey finish.

I have since disconnected both my home and office from the national grid. I now have light 24 hours without the need for PHCN or generator.

I consider it as sheer madness for anyone who can afford to fix solar and enjoy free power supply yet wasting money and stress on PHCN.

Check google play for the Buypower.ng app...that's what I use. Also, you can use apps like Quickteller to pay for power in some localities. Once you pay on the app, you get a recharge code...to enter into your meter

Also check your DISCO's site for a list of available online vendors/payment options.

Infact, I haven't been to a DISCO office since 2017 December ever since I discovered apps like Buypower.

Thank you for this info. I will check those apps out. Actually I have been using jumiapay Nd OPay app to recharge until lately they block access to it. I have friends who recharge for people with POS Nd they complain they can no longer sale prepaid subscription for people.

1.I don't think I called you a tribal bigot.

2.I am aware of Prof Nnaji's case, and I beleive he was forced out by vested interests

3.Having said that, even if Prof was allowed to do his work, and we had power 24/7, the equipment has to eventually be upgraded and fixed, and expanded ....and that involves allowing the power companies to work at a profit.

Prof by the way has an interest in Geometric Power...which is a GENCO and which relies on the incomes generated by DISCOS to run well.

It is not oppression to allow business to make a profit.

Both increments were never announced to their consumers...trust me, this can only happen in Nigeria.

This is the way some Nigerians kept saying no matter the price of electricity,they would pay for it as long as it's regular.
When people that used to receive at least 20hours of light everyday started receiving bills of ₦30-₦50k per flat even in middle class,developed areas,they started screaming.
Even if electricity has to become constant and regular,it must be affordable.

Hahahahaha very funny but na truth. Beside na 3 bedroom flat. We do manage it very well beside is mostly in the night and morning we use light cus everyone is busy and goes out either work or market thats why. So once we are leaving the house the last person will switch off the meter.

Thankfully, I saw a die-hard 'patriot' and bubu supporter quoting laws at ibedc office when he noticed he got less than the expected number of electricity units for the amount he bought. I later jokingly asked him if they didn't realise he's a patriot and he told me things are just too unbearable. I'm relieved they are feeling the pain more than most of us
