Biometrics - Wednesday 22nd September 2021 at Ikeja TLS for myself and my wife. My wife had appointment but I did walk-in as I can’t wait till 24th September because school has resumed since 13th September and my own biometrics was meant to be 24th September.

Monday 27th September 2021 - Received first NSF Mail

Monday 4th October 2021 - Received 2nd NSF mail. Shortly after I received a call and an email from UKVI for a video interview slated for the following day 5th October for 9:30am. ( At this stage we have disposed of most of our things at home and we’re practically sleeping on the floor. Imagine the tensions that were already creeping into our mind and lives?)

Tuesday 5th October 2021 - Video interview commenced as scheduled and lasted for about 1 hour. Questions asked ranges from reasons for my previous three visa refusals from 2003(two refusals) and 2016(one). The also asked reasons for the 13 year educational gap between B. Sc (2008) and intending M.Sc(2021) and what I have been doing in-between those years. They asked other others ranging from why I wanted to study IT, why I chose Robert Gordon Uni, what myself and wife were doing for a living amongst other sundry questions then the interview ended.

Monday 11th October 2021 - Wife’s profile moved to VAC and later that day a pickup mail was delivered .

Tuesday 12th October 2021- My profile moved to VAC and a pickup mail was sent later that day.

We both travelled to Lagos on Friday to pick up our passport with our visa inside.

It was a torrid journey which started in May 2021 and had a lot of delays from my university(Olabisi Onabanjo University) failing to process my transcripts on time to RGU first offering me a pre-masters which I rejected to the real masters admission coming out late on the 1st of September 2021. What about having to go to the Ikoyi registry to correct numerous errors on our wedding certificate which they made three times? The numerous near accidents on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway amongst others.

In all these we thank the good lord that the whole project was successful at the end.

The animal and plant people will request you follow them to their unit if they somehow discover you have food stuff. They will give you a form to fill, to declare the stuff you're carrying. After that they say drop money. Gave them 500naira they said my money is 2k. I brought out extra 500naira making it 1k, drop it on their desk and started packing and zipping my bags. I left them there.

That unit is so useless. They're set up to just collect money perhaps.

In all I used 4k for dashing those airport staff. No be must bros. If you no wan give no one go stop you

Are you sure about this? Did they change the rules recently? The last time I flew KLM Lagos - Amsterdam - London, I didn’t require a transit visa as it is a connecting flight and you’re not going past border control. Double check with the Airline though to be sure.

Immigration is the most useless unit. Can you imagine these guys insisted that I declare my BTA and show my CAS. I don't have but the guy started quoting some inexistent immigration laws. I tried convincing him like a normal person, guy no gree. Na so I switch to my werey mode, started snapping him, he wasn't even wearing complete uniform. I said I will implicate him, so he went to some of his ogas sitting far away and said something to them, came back to me and told me to meet the ogas and explain to them. Before getting there, they directed me to where to board, lol. They didn't even see my CAS.
At customs, no wahala, guy checked my passport, asked country I'm going to and asked for course of study. Guy said I should make us proud.

Please and please, if you papa no be rich man, try to print your covid test result and passenger locator form. In airport, one page is #1000 o. I shock! They even pasted the amount for each service on their wall.

NB: You don't owe any frigging body at the airport money unless you want to do sadaqah(willingly give out).

This situation is tough. You just have to keep pushing, on those property pages. Try Zoopla and/or spareroom. Airbnb is not cheap. Don't just tire in your search because you will face reasons (minimum lenght of tenancy, documents to tender, contracts...) to tire and almost give up but don't. Airbnb no cheap so focus, start searching and calling property owners/agents on those web page.


The key is to call. Try calling from 10am to 2pm. You'll most likely not be speaking into a machine as voice message during this period

It is not easy to print those documents before hand. Covid19 test in naija is to be done withing 72hrs before departure, Passenger locator form is to be completed within 48hrs before departure. In my case most of my 48hrs stretches through Sunday when all photocopy centers in my area were shut. I had to go from one closed shop to the order calling the phone numbers on their banners, offering them money for them to come open their shop on a Sunday. I got lucky with one sha.

Passenger locator form 48hrs to take off, e no dey easy for the brain. If you're to look for accommodation, to have an address to put in your passenger locator form and/or Day 2 and 8 test order, that one na x1000 brain pain

I'm still using both of my Nigerian sims in the UK. I receive and send calls and SMS as usual. Call is 150naira per minute, sms is 50naira per minute. You also get charged for incoming calls you receive not sure about received messages.
