God? But no matter what your intentions are, if you don't actually do that which God infact command- submit to and obey the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ as recorded for us in the Gospels - they amount to nothing.

By the way, God all but promised you that you would have enemies and tribulations in this life, so what makes you think that you can escape that with God?

He is simply saying he doesn't want to keep/have any grudges against anyone.
That does not keep enemies away, because they will always arise no matter what. But on this wise had GOD said:

“And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.”
— Jeremiah 1:19 (KJV)
