Unknown Gunmen Attack Police Station In Ebonyi, Free Inmates, Burn Operational Vehicles

Attacks on police stations in the South-East region of Nigeria continued on Monday as unknown gunmen attacked the Divisional Police Headquarters situated in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

SaharaReporters gathered that the gunmen "stormed the station around 2 am, releasing all the suspects in custody in the police facility".

Some operational vehicles were also set ablaze by the hoodlums while some officers escaped with bullet wounds.

Other circumstances surrounding the attack, including the identities of the attackers could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

Loveth Odah, Ebonyi State Police Command spokesperson confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters, saying the police commissioner was on his way to the scene to ascertain the level of damage.

The incident is the latest in what appears to be a growing trend of attacks on police stations and security personnel in the South-East region of the country.

The governors in the region recently announced the establishment of a joint security outfit, codenamed ‘Ebube Agu’ to "battle rising insecurity".

My advice is that nigerian police should as a matter of urgency remember tomorrow before taking any action or decision against fellow nigerians.
Majority of them have commited too many attrocities capable of attracting Gods anger.

Barrel of gun does not turn men to immotals.

The Federal Government should come out and tell Nigerians the genuine efforts he has made at arresting security issues in the East. The FG has all the intelligent apparatus to identify these UGM but no, they want East down South to be like the East up North but they fail to understand that the security being enjoyed in the South East is people and economy driven and not the efforts of the security forces as a matter of fact, the government security forces are seen as posing insecurities in the East.

Please, I know many unarmed youths were killed during many IPOB protests in the past but there is need for forgiveness so that these killings of both security and civilians will stop.

There is no joy in killing people. The families will be the ones feeling the pains. It is not good please. Let us forgive as it is in the bible.

Confused Ipob member.
You don't even know whether to celebrate your Ipob attacks as usual or
blame security agents.

IPOB stands for everything and anything you can never get. IPOB stands for freedom, peace, progress, respect for humans, and resilience.
For you, you will continue to move from one online platform to another constituting nuisance, having sleepless nights on top Igbo matters, showing your envy and hatred for Igbos, while the Igbos continue to match forward.

My fellow Igbo people it time to wake up to reality of what these IPOB gunmen are doing, If you destroy police stations, destroy police vehicles, kill or kidnap police officers and station staff and cart away their weapons, also attacking police checkpoints and destroying police vehicles at checkpoints.

These people are gradually ridding our region of police , in order that the land would become lawless so you can be at their mercy. So that one day they would issue you an order to stop buying fuel or to close the banks or to close all educational institutions which you must obey or get deleted.

Without police, constituted authority would crumble local governments may fall, just as they fell for Boko Haram.

By the time the army is sent in to restore law and order, we are in an insurgency war.

Keep cheering terrorists if you want and one day you would meet them personally and understand they are terrorists.
This exactly how Boko Haram started off being cheered on by the Northerners.
