IN what looks like a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul, 32 state governments in Nigeria get a higher share of the Value Added Tax (VAT) than they generate internally, investigation has revealed. In the past few weeks, Nigerians have been treated to intense legal fireworks over issues relating to the collection of Value Added Tax (VAT) in the country. https://tribuneonlineng.com/winners-losers-as-32-states-get-more-vat-share-than-they-generate-investigation/ 5 Likes 1 Share

See the life of some people. Is Yobe not the State that Moin Moin Buni is Governor of? Apparently the guy is never to be found in Yobe. He is too busy junketing across Nigeria on APC business and scheming on behalf of his Fulani cabal over how to frustrate Tinubu meanwhile his State remains as beggarly and as backwards as ever. Sad joke. Findings show that states like Jigawa, Bayelsa, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba amongst others rely almost solely on the federal allocation to fund their expenses. 33 Likes 5 Shares |

This is no doubt a typical scenerio of 'few monkeys dey work and many baboons dey chop'. Here are my suggestions: Remove every forms of tax from the exclusive list to residual. FIRS and other federal revenue agencies should be scrapped and replaced with state owned agencies. Allow 36 states and FCT to collect all taxes (both sales, vat, custom duties and every other) All 36 states and FCT, instead of looking up to FG for allocations, should rather pay a monthly allocation of a particular percentage to the FG. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Fahdiga: Where does it say what you claim IPOBian Yoruba wannabe. The Same SW that plans to present a united effort to collect VAT is the same worried it "will feel the brunt if states starts collecting VAT". One day you clowns will get it that SW is determined to gain more autonomy and is not d1cking around with others especially you IPOBians who are lost, confused and directionless. The SW now sees itself as a region State regardless of political affiliation. It is especially you IPOBians that need to wake up to begin sorting your pathetic lives out rather than obsessing over the assured SW. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thenationonlineng.net/vat-southwest-states-plan-joint-action/ VAT: Southwest states plan joint action. 76 Likes 13 Shares |

Covidodo: I don't get those guys. Their region is turning to rubble right before their eyes yet shading the united, more focused, more visionary and much better-off Yorubas remains their 24/7 obsession. Highly irresponsible people in a tragic way. Then again that Fahdiga is another IPOBian sojourning in Lagos so what does he care about the Igbos back in ala Igbo. 53 Likes 8 Shares |

"Bayelsa rely solely on FG to survive" You see my people, its not about what is found around you but what you can create. Resources without brain is useless. As for North, those ones are Human Parasites Looking at the report, one would understand why the regional factories there was shut down in a bid to focus more on what they derive from Nigeria. As for East, despite all the Nigerian active warfare on her Economy, some are doing well. Abịa is just a disgrace. I won't blame Abia state Government but the people because a wise man Said "If the Government is made up of fools, then the electorates are well represented" Until Biafra comes, in a free and fair election they will still vote for those they now see as Gods, Theodore Orji/ Orji Uzor Kalu. 13 Likes 1 Share |

In comparison to Eastern States, States such as Kaduna, Kano and Katsina are doing better than Abia, Anambra, Imo, and Enugu. Based on available data reproduced below, in the past eight months, total VAT generated in Abia was N2.290b, Anambra -N5.938b, Imo -N1.941 compared to Kaduna -N18.262b and Kano -N24.492b. South West-2 States North West- 2 States South South- 1 State... North East- Parasites(Honorable mention(Yobe) North Central-FCT South East- All Parasites. 40 Likes 9 Shares
