Of what use is the population of a state like Kano if it cannot generate or translate it to revenue that can sustain it. It means the citizens are not productive. 1 Like |

blamingthedevil: You are even missing the most important point which is that kaduna alone generates more than twice the IGR of Abia,Anambra and Imo combined yet the lousy IPOB miscreants are quick to insult Nothern Govs. I keep repeating it everywhere that of all the 6 geopolitical zones the SE that has the loudest voice is the most unviable. If Nigeria breaks up today the visa for Nigeria will be as difficult as America's visa for Biafranistans A real case of emptiest barrel making most noise. |

All these sponsored write up should not change the fact that it is the constitutional right of the states to collect their VAT. Any state that can not collect their VAT should hire the FIRS to do it for them. |

Fahdiga:Are you saying this because you are informed or because you feel so? In any case, it should interest you to know that Ogun State has maintained between no 2 to no 4 highest IGR among the 36 States in over the last 10 years. BKayy:they said 32 states. Are they all the north? Did you see the bottom 3? Just one state in the north is there. And the top 6, you have 3 from the north among them. Available records show that Lagos State accounts for 55per cent of Nigeria’s VAT, followed by Abuja with 20per cent, Rivers with 6per cent, Kano with 5per cent while Kaduna accounts for 1per cent of the fund. Obasanjo killed industries in the north. |

Grayoso: Bros, In all sincerity, if Igbos businesses pull out as you suggested, you see those big figures allocated to Kano, Lagos, Kaduna, Rivers up there will collapse by at least 60%. Don't doubt this. Most of the big private industries you see in those states are owned by igbos. Investigate!! Thank you |
