SmartPolician: The simple truth is that we have bad and incompetent leaders in almost all the Government parasatals, why not make a good and simple law and save NIGERIA from fuel importation. For example mandate all these multi-national oil companies to build refineries here in NIGERIA or leave the countries oil business, secondly support some states to build refineries/privatize Government owned refineries and see the issue of fuel importation to go extinct with a year or more |

Kudos to Dangote's brilliance and biz acumen as a Nigerian. This is just another experiment to help move the country forward and too early to see where it will lead us. Dangote has been a true champion in this novel cause. i am not a business analyst and so its too early for me to predict how this will pan out . 1 Like 1 Share |

samwillyco1: You cannot mandate oil companies to do shit. Have it on notice that lots of oil majors have relinquished their onshore assets. Secondly, the effect of militancy and pure sabotage makes it unattractive for such oil coys. In addition, Nigeria once implemented a nationalisation policy which led to greater antipathy from Western-owned oil companies. 1 Like |

Many countries in the EU signed the zero gas emission, UK motor industry players lobbied for an extension for extra 5 years beyond 2030. Dangote refinery came 10yrs late, the desperation to recoup his capital will drive the prize of the product to the moon. I'm sorry for Nigeria. |

I swear this Dangote man is benevolent! Imagine one person controls one third of trading activities at the NSE. Now, the whole country is waiting on his yet to be completed refinery to save the Naira. With all these, Dangote can be the richest man in the world. He can easily pump and dump whatever he wishes on us and make some wicked money out of us! 1 Like |

Emefiele, while responding to questions from financial experts, had said the country would witness a significant drop in imports and forex boost once the Dangote refinery commenced operations by June 2022. Please, take note of this. I have been saying what Nigeria needs to do. We need to address what went wrong. Note that Emefiele, the Central Bank governor said here that imports must drop significantly before forex boost. That is it. What makes imports drops? Definitely exports must increase. It is just one department of our economy which will do wonders. Now imagine we reduce imports in all other department. This is a huge success. Our root problem was caused by more imports and extremely low exports. So, what caused this? We produce less. Most factories have shuf down. And why did mjat factories shut down? Lack of of enough Power. Wow. Note that we said lack of enough power. How? We suppose to increase power we generated according to increase in population. Population at the time our economy was booming was less than 8 million in major places industries are. Today, we are close to 80 million. I am.not talking of total population, but general population where industries are. Lagos alone is presently 21 million while in those days it was around 3 million. What a huge explosion. Many things are wrong. Nigeria challenge is technical and can be address by someone who understands it. So, we need to first create attractive homes and other benefits in other places to decongest major cities industries are. Power is the solution. We just need to generate power massively. No matter how we try, we will not get it if we depend on renewables like water, wind, solar, etc. It is not possible. We cannot get it right. The only way to get it right is nuclear power. Nigeria needs nuclear. If we dont do it, we will continue struggling. This lies the solution. The moment we get on board nuclear power, and we create a system to spread population across the country....road construction and housing plans must continue....that is when Nigeria will come out. A 20-years plan can achieve this and we will compete with super nations. This is what Osinbajo and the economic team should focus on. And they make Agric a strong means to boom our export. 2 Likes 1 Share |

lexy2014:Because people like Olumide abokiforex and other yeye people like him no dey manufacture anything and as dem no get sense to remember say CBN took a strategic business and national interest decision on Dangote, it's dia own problem. For donkey years, dis same people like Olumide abokiforex dey manipulate forex and some dey chop for every year TAM of those our national refineries and when dey pump petrol, another set of yeye people go go damage oil pipeline to dey siphon the fuel . Now God help us with Dangote Refinery so dat for once we will stop putting all our hopes on those refineries, dem still dey try to dey condemn CBN. Tell dem o say CBN sef go chop for Dangote Refinery because na business no be charity. All the discos wey CBN lend money, you sabi how much CBN don make? As people dey buy electricity, na CBN controlled account e dey go. Na like dat Dangote sef go be until e pay back some facilities CBN guarantee. Within 5 years max, Dangote Refinery go become profitable, pay him debt and na win win for everybody. Dis na d plan those yeye people like Olumide of abokiforex want to frustrate so dey can continue with free dirty money wey no dey create job like dat of Dangote. 1 Like 1 Share |
