Please nairalanders I just want to ask this question because I have never been as scared as this In my entire life of traveling interstate in Nigeria road

I want to travel by road to Kaduna from Lagos next weekend for one of my brothers wedding. He's getting married to a kogi girl whose family are base in kaduna. When we got the invitation for the wedding venue to be Kaduna most of our families were scared because of the insecurities in the northern region, which prompted most yell at him if he didn't see any girl in the whole southern region to Marry because the wedding journey is a risk to everyone going from herebut because of brotherly love we just ignore the negativities and choose to carry on with the wedding plan, even my parents almost decided not to go for the wedding

My questions is are we not putting our lives in danger going for this wedding in the now insecure notorious Northern Nigeria?

Safe or no safe, thousand commuters ply that notorious Kogi-Abuja-kaduna roads daily and only 0.5percent were affected.


This weekend, I'll be driving to Abuja from Kogi to flex.

With your at least 10m aside for ransom, you are good to go.

It's at your own risk really.. the journey is long, you'll get to Abuja I think before joining the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway.

Funny enough, it's just 45-50 mins by road from Abuja to Kaduna.Train is say 15-20mins but now bandits are attacking them.
Your best bet is to get to Abuja by road and join train to Kaduna. When you get to rigasa, you'll get vehicle to your location.

Is very risky,but I will advice u travel in the day time.
