Dear senior colleagues and elders in traveling and long distance driving on Nigerian roads, I have come to seek you. I plan to drive from Onitsha to Yola, this isn't my first time, but the last time I drove it was 2017.

In terms of my safety and that of the car (2014 corolla), which of these routes is better now please?

1. Onitsha-Enugu-Nsukka-Otukpa-Otukpo-Aliede-Gboko-Kastima Ala--Yola

2. Onitsha-Enugu-Abakaliki-Ogoja-kastina Ala--Yola

No 2 option is better off, Onitsha to Aliade is bad, but Enugu to Abakiliki is better off

Go to a renowned transport company early on the day of your trip. Inform the driver billed to travel the Yola route from Onitsha that you want to drive behind him. They always know the safest and fastest route.

I only know of luxury buses, and if I dare drive behind that, I will freak out! Again luxury bus driver can easily ply a road that may cut a 15' rim into two.
