Northern Coalition Asks Court To Exit South-East From Nigeria by Islie: 7:35am On Oct 26, 2021
Some members of the Coalition of Northern Groups have asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to compel the National Assembly to hasten the exit of the South East from Nigeria before concluding the ongoing constitutional amendment.

The plaintiffs, led by Nastura Ashir Shariff, Balarabe Rufa’I, Abdul-Aziz Sulaiman and Aminu Adam, in a supporting affidavit, said their action was informed by the need to contain violence and destruction being allegedly occasioned by the agitation for secession championed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

They said they did not want a repeat of the 1967 to 1970 civil war in Nigeria that cost the country millions of lives and property worth billions of naira.

The Attorney General of the Federation, the Senate president, the speaker of the House of Representatives and the National Asembly were listed as defendants in the suit.

In their reaction, lawyers from the South East, led by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chuks Muoma, Ukpai Ukairo, Ebere Uzoatu and Obi Emuka, have applied to the court to join them as defendants in the suit.

They are asking for order of the court to allow them join in the suit as representatives of the people of the south eastern region.

In their application for joinder filed by Victor Onweremadu in Abuja Monday, they said the case of the Northern elders seeking the exit of South East from Nigeria had the capability to shape the life of the generation of Igbo people.

The motion on notice for the joinder request was brought pursuant to order 9 rule 5 and order 26 rule 2 of the federal high court civil procedure rule 2019.

The Igbo lawyers said they had interest to protect in the suit, hence, their request to be made defendants.

In their 12-paragraph affidavit in support of their application, the lawyers said the northern groups, in their suit, did not think it necessary to join the people of South East or their representatives to enable the court hear from them.

These ones are just looking for recognition like the "quit notice" of 2017 by AYCF put Yerima shettima in limelight..

You have killing in tens and increasing on a daily basis up North, but would rather ignore that.

They said they did not want a repeat of the 1967 to 1970 civil war in Nigeria that cost the country millions of lives and property worth billions of naira.

The civil war lasted 3years, but Nigeria has been fighting the Bokoharam war for 10years now, the NE,NW,NC,SE,SW have lost thousands of lives and Trillions worth of Naira both in Equipments and allocations, but I guess that is not really important.

It’s not Southeast that will be exited alone.

It’s the entire old Eastern region.

With Anioma in Delta state.

And some part of Edo, Kogi and Benue.

Failure to grant that, we will continue to hold Nigeria by the balls.

You ain’t seen nothing.

Ndi Ala!

Since their brethren in collusion with some deluded southerners @ the NASS have refused to do the needful to peacefully allowing a referendum for anyone who is tired of this failed federation to exit, then let the law Court help us.

I can't continue to share a failed country with the likes of Sheikh Gumi, hisbah police, killer fulanis/bandits/ boko haram terrorists ethno-religious supremacist fanatics and their sympathizers in government.Good radiance to bad rubbish.Good luck to one Nigeria apologists

(II) Recently Declassified Secret Colonial Records now confirm the heavy manipulations by the British to create a lopsided Union in which what was packaged as “Independence” in 1960 was, for the Southern and Middle Belt Nigeria, merely a Transition from External British Colonialism to Internal Caliphate Colonialism, manifesting Nigeria progressively as a British/Caliphate Joint Venture holding the South and Middle Belt Territories and Peoples in Servitude.

On this note, it is instructive to recall the December 1913 description by the then Secretary For the Colonies, Lord Harcourt, of the impending January 1st, 1914 illicit Annexation of Southern Nigeria to Northern Nigeria, as the British Marrying off the Souther Lady of Means to the Poor but Well-Conducted Northern Youth

To point out that it was the Celebration of this Grand Bequest that Ahmadu Bello had declared to his lieutenants in the very week “Independence” in October 1960 that “The New Nation Nigeria should be an Estate of our Great-Grand-Father Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of Power; We use the Minorities of the Middle Belt as Willing Tools and the South as a Conquered Territory; and never to allow them to rule over us; and never allow them have Control Over their Future”. (Parrot Newspaper, 12th October, 1960)

This is the problem we keep having with ibos, anytime we think we can make them friends some ibos like you spill rubbish online.

No part of Ẹdo is going to be given out to anybody accept that and have peace else brace up for combat.

I wonder if the last civil war didn't teach some of you a lesson. Tribes in the SS have repeated it severally they don't want to be part of your Biafra. You keep trying to force them, it's just not gonna work.

It's time to start reasoning like an adult and drop your baby antics. Not even your 419 referendum will take place in another man's land. Gosh.

If you go through my last comments on this forum, I have been a strong supporter of the Biafran nation (Igbo nation), but trying to force others to join you is where ibos will make a lot of enemies which is what the Fulani government wants.

Be wise and careful, no man is the strongest, even Israel which the Igbos believe they are related with gave up lands for peace sake.

It's better the Ibo nation start making allies than enemies, and that starts by respecting your neighbours wish.

well said, igbos should leave the minorities and go for igbo nation that includes igbos in delta, rivers, edo, cross rivers and benue State. If the minorities are interested in Biafra they should fight for it.

I support this 100%.
I personally want Biafra to be declared so that we can all rest. There's NOTHING the SE brings to the table other than victimhood.

The only condition is that SE indigenes would have to move back to their home states. You can turn Biafra to heaven on earth, nothing will take me there. All I want is to peacefully and quietly eat amala, while enjoying the sights of my rustic brown roofs.

Please allow UmuChineke to go!

We've had enough. Allow us to go, MBA! We are ready to leave all our investments in lagos and Abuja for u people. 95% of Lagos investments are owned by IGBO billionaires, we are ready to let go.

ALLOW MY PEOPLE TO GO, CHUKWU OKIKE ABIAMA IS CALLING US. The same way God called the Israelites out of Egypt is the same way God will call us out of Nigeria. Israelites had Moses, we have MNK.
