Why I understand this is politics, and understand that politics and money are synonymous especially in Nigeria, I am often wary of businessmen like these in public office. He will set out to recoup his ‘investment’ multiple fold if elected into office

I hope if he lost in the election he would not go and start asking those poor widows to pay rent?
As a matter of fact, a proper "Deed Of Gift" should be executed in favour of each of the selected widow(beneficiaries) and same should be filed accordingly in Court for record purposes.
I can't trust any politician in Nigeria.

Poverty mindset is your problem. This man was already doing such things before his people asked him to contest. He doesn't believe it's a waste even if he doesn't become Anambra Governor. He enjoys to help people unlike you.

As for pitying him, sorry, he doesn't need your pity. He has many booming businesses earning huge dollars on a daily basis. Just 2 days of his earnings are enough to cover for all the electioneering expenditure in Naira. So, stop pitying him because he is the one pitying you instead.

I hate the way most Nigerians behave like people under a curse. They are very uncomfortable with good things. But, when they see a deceiver like Soludo, they queue up behind him.
