seed funding are funds given to startups by other successful business owners, investors etc in return for an equity stake in the startup

I'm curious about this seed funding thing. Is it like a grant or a loan to " assist" the new start up?

Nothing makes a loan nice to me
You will always be hooked into it, like collecting to another to pay back
you are wrong, if you are a business person you need a loan to stay afloat unless if you arr using it for frivolities which is bad

I see Nairaland chronic debtors rushing to Google play store to search for payhippo so that they can download the app and collect loans from them without paying back, I see the company folding up by next year as a result of having so many chronic debtors.

This I have seen.

Another mobile loan app.
Nothing new.
No tech innovation.

True. You must understand the difference between the rich and the wealthy. The rich like some certain parts of this country, once they are in billions of naira or there about, they show off, buy cars and are flamboyant, and there is nothing wrong with it. While we have the innovators, they derive joy in solving a major world's problem, their initial idea was not to become wealthy but to solve a very big problem, so in solving that very big problem, they become very wealthy and they continue looking for more big problems to solve. For example, the money of Adenuga alone is a combination of many hundreds of billionaires in this country. While one is making noise because he has 50 billion naira, the other one needs a trillion naira to solve a major problem. So, the former has the time to show off because his initial idea is to be rich, while the latter ( who is wealthy), initial idea is to solve a big problem. As a result, you can't expect the latter to have time for show off.

As a business person, you may need loan to stay afloat..
But not a loan with outrageous interest rate...
At the end of the day, the business will collapse
Thats the is the sad story of most SMEs in Nigeria...

that is why you have to be calculative in getting the loanand align it with your goods or services.

They are useless thieves, most of them give you loan with 35% interest, some of them 40%
Government need to close some of these apps if they can’t be regulated

This poster is right, this is an unregulated sector, some charge as much as 54% for 7 days tenor.... really pathetic.

Someone who needs loan is already in trouble, now add more trouble for 7 days, and from day 4, this people will start defending their clients
