A man on twitter has narrated the way a Nigerian mother handled her son who was schooling in Italy after he revealed that he’s become an atheist, Siggy reveals.

According to the narrator, his cousin was schooling in Italy, and when he reached his 2nd year in the university, he opened up to his mum that he has embraced atheism.

The mum, who is a Deaconess acted calmly as if she had no objection and waited for him to come back to Nigeria.

However, the young man never went back to Italy because she started schooling in Nigeria and graduated from Kaduna Polytechnic.

You keep using the bolded as a defense to guilt trip religion, there are cases around us of Christian and Muslim couples living fine, even traditional men and their religious wives, why do you think it will be different with atheists? But you saw no problem with what his mom did nw. You knew that definitely hurt him but you excused it and said it's his mother's choice. How can you take your son away from a good school in Italy to a polytechnic in Kaduna? That's like being deported.
How do you expect the son to feel? Happy? Delighted? That's what I'm saying, the mom used her finances to force him back as a way of keeping him in check, meanwhile the boy will only hide it to please her, when he's finally on his own, his true colors will show, and it won't be funny for the wife and mother since they never wanted an atheist in the first place.
