Empty Streets In Anambra as Resident Begin Sit-at-home Despite Ipob Cancellation by MANDIPUTIN: 10:36am On Nov 05, 2021 |
Most streets in Anambra state are currently empty as residents have stayed indoors due to the one week sit-at-home order. Although the Indigenous People of Biafra cancelled the order on Thursday evening, November 4, residents have stayed indoors due to fear of being attacked or harassed for stepping out. A visit to several busy areas in the state capital like Unizik Junction, Ifite, Okpuno Agu Awka observed a lull in business and commercial activities in the area. Roads deserted in Awka despite halt of sit-at-home order. Residents of Awka, Anambra State in the early hours of Friday stayed away from their places of business, with only a few cars, commercial buses, tricycles seen on the roads. Many had expected activities to pick up early in the state capital with the Indigenous People of Biafra calling off their one-week stay-at-home order on Thursday but at 9 am, activities were at their lowest. At the Regina junction along the Onitsha Enugu Road, commuters were seen boarding the few available buses, while few food vendors were seen on the popular Regina Caeli Road doing their business. Heavily armed police officers were also visible in the area as they paraded the streets and major roads. Source: Punch https://punchng.com/roads-deserted-in-awka-despite-halt-of-sit-at-home 1 Like

Hahaha, who still listens to BBC? I stopped taking them serious when they started doing dirty hatchet jobs for the government. Now look at the pictures they're posting and observe that it's still a little dark. These guys went out very early in the morning to snap a few selected pictures to use as propaganda. Do people open shops very early in the morning? Why didn't they wait until 9 o'clock before pushing their fake news?! The same East I'm currently in? I drove to work today, opened my business and at least 90% of the businesses around also opened! 5 Likes |

Onitsha residents are not happy with the cancellation, if IPOB continues with such policy changes in the future, they might end up losing the trust of the masses especially with MNK not been on ground to lead. I think most voters would stay home tomorrow regardless of how much the politicians are sharing at the polling units. People are just tired of this country and her politics. 5 Likes |

You guyz dont get it...the only thing holding a full scale confrontation with the Military is Nnamdi Kanu...forget all this Federal MIGHT Nonsense...If people decide to arm themselves now.....which is becoming a real reality ...your so called Military will bear the brunt of the years of foolish incursions in the east when "BOKO HARAM/BANDITS/FULANIHERDSMEN" are left to cause mayhem and are reintegrated into society...via army and custom appointments. Since IPOB has been cancelling sit at home did people STOP sitting at home?? DONT TELL ME ITS FEAR...because you dont even understand the resolute nature of IGBO people. SIT AT HOME IS TOTAL...and the International community is watching ...UNKNOWN TO MANY ZOMBIES...THE shutdown is a Prelude to a Referendum.THE SIT @ HOME ON ELECTION DAY SHOWS THAT SOUTHEASTERNERS ARE FED UP WITH NIGERIA. temitope27: 6 Likes 1 Share |

I love this. You cant instill fear in a people and then believe you could make that fear evaporate by simply waving a hand. Whatever happens in that election, Ndigbo should know where exactly to lay their blames. They were hoping they'd muscle the FG into releasing the terrorist, but sensing the government wouldnt budge, they decided to make a u-turn, meanwhile, the horse had already bolted out the stable. Even on the forum, those who insist they would still dare the terrorists and come out to vote were cautioned against doing so by the terrorist enablers and resident foot soldiers here, saying "if you dare go out, take whatever you see as you see it. No one will mourn you". They threaten to kill people, go out and carry out such threats, then turn around to blame everyone but themselves for the killings. Interestingly, Ohanaeze and the kings in igbo land have become so scared for their lives they dare not say a word in criticism of ipob. They did in 2019 when the terrorists were armed only with little guns and machetes, today they boast kalashnikovs and RPGs. #LongLiveIPOB. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Another reason for the sit at home compliance is the unnecessary militarization of the state, nobody would step out after seeing all that war machines and armed personnel. People sees them as an army of occupation and is resisting them by sitting at home in order to ridicule them. |
