We have seen instances where banks refunded the customers having investigated and realised that the customers didn't compromise his or her account details at any point in time. The criminal silence is always their usual first reaction.

That will be nice for the woman.

Let me conclude that bank and jumia reps are criminals! They're the ones that stole her money. They sent an otp to her phone and how were they able to make a successful transaction when she has her phone with her. I will be following this case up!

Jumia couldn't have released the details of the fraudster as that is against the law. The police needs to file for an order from the court for the details of the customer to be released before jumia can do that.

Releasing the details of the customer to anyone is a violation of the fraudster's right of privacy which can be sued and damages claimed

You don't mean it so the one FBI hacked into hushpuppi gmail is against the law ba
Re: Ogun Teacher Tackles Bank, Online Store As Fraudsters Empty Account by einsteine(m): 8:37am On Nov 09, 2021
The process requires the customer to get a court order in order to trace the missing funds. This is for those people who are blaming GTB for not helping trace the money.

The same people who complain of this would also complain if the bank was to ensure more security. For example, imagine if the bank decides to charge you a monthly fee for protection such that you are called by an anti-fraud staff for every transaction above a certain amount. It is the same bank customers who will attack the bank for the inconvenience caused or for the fact they have to pay extra for such a service.

The fact that your money is saved in the bank doesn't mean you will abdicate responsibility for the safety of the money to the bank.

The woman in question should look around her family members and the POS shops she goes to for the thief who stole her money.

FBI didn't hack Hushpuppi's email.

A court order was gotten and GMail granted access directly to the account. If they had hacked his email, the evidence gotten would have been rejected by the court for being illegal

I have being asking this question and nobody is giving me a good answer. If i give someone something to keep for me based on some agreement, if the thing got lost or Stolen, am i not suppose to hold the person that i gave that thing responsible? Why are the banks not being held responsible for all the things, are not suppose to keep our money safe?

Hmmm... Don't forget, the bank also give you keys to the safe where your money is kept.

Her SIM was probably cloned!

Charging your phone in public places can contribute to that. You leave the phone unattended and someone can remove the SIM and plug it into a SIM reader/cloner device...voila!

They get a blank sim and copy it back and they operate from there.

Oga calm down! He is right. In the policy statement of most online stores, they give the mandate to protect their customer's personal information which includes profile and phone numbers.

Even if a scammer clears your bank account running into millions and transfers it into his account in another bank, if you approach the bank of the thief, they will never give you his name or account details except you get a court order and summons from an anti-graft agency like EFCC with permissions duly signed by the Nigerian Police.

That is why they will have to pay for that loss, because they can't protect their customers interests,in other countries, once you report a fraud on your account, your account will be credited to the tune of reported loss within 72hrs and they will work with the receiving bank or platform used by the fraudsters in conjunction with the Police. to unravel that crime,no matter how small the amount is.

Nigeria law and Nigeria corporate policies empowers and emboldened fraudsters

Too many Yahoo boys in the bank these days. That's how one Yahoo boy account officer almost succeeded in milking me dry, but Oluwa opened my eyes at the 11th hour to discover the fraud.

Once you commit fraud using the system, you nullify your right to privacy on the platform. They just didn't want to reveal those details because they were culpable too, that's all.
