Just as his predecessor inherited loans, and his predecessor inherited loans

Reason why we take loans is the same reason why most African countries are on loans...the price of whatever we sell is never high enough for our needs....so we take a loan to meet up.

Like now, oil is at $86 a barrel. We need it to be at $130 or more per barrel before we can avoid loans. Either we take loans, or we would end up with people not being paid salaries for at least 12 months nationwide.

Obasanjo did pay off our loans..in 2006...but that was because the Paris club was in a good mood then, cancelling all the loans of many countries. FOR Nigeria they cancelled 67% of our loans and we paid the remaining balance. Within a few years, we were back to taking loans.

I honestly don't like the way APC and PDP use this loan issues to mudsling each other. The way out of loan issue is to change our economy from being a resource dependent economy to an industrial economy. Or we are still going to take loan after loan after loan.

Which is why APC has failed. They had opportunities to change our economic paradigm over the last 7 years, but no. Ditto PDP.
