We need to keep asking this question.

My cousin's story is not one of brutality per se, but very frightening anyways. The poor girl gave birth to her second child and had a child dedication. She lived around the police station at Mafoluku (in Lagos State) and decided to invite a couple of the police men as a gesture of good will. Behold the same night the policemen came back to rob the family of the monies they had been gifted at the dedication. In fact one was about to rape a teenage guest that had stayed behind to help clean up the after party mess but the others refused to wait for him.
Two of them did not bother to cover their faces properly and they were recognizable.
Poor girls went to make a report the next day to the DPO, and the first question they were asked was "Can you recognise these men?".
From the corner, a female police woman was eyeing my cousin and bating her eyelids really fast. Whether she did it to protect my cousin or she was just being crafty, my cousin got the message and answered that she could not recognize the men.
No further action was taken. They had to move out of the estate.

Hopefully others share their police stories on this thread as well
