I don't know why everyone thinks he deserves pity. If he wasn't in that building and the building collapsed, taking the lives of those people with it, he would have still gotten away with it. As per Lagos big man levels. The only way nature thought to serve justice for his cutting corners and endangering the lives of others was to ensure that he was also in that building. Knowing the Nigerian justice system, nothing would have happened to him if he wasn't in that building.

The guy nah real hustler but him go deh allow some religious sentiment eeh enta him brain...

He was warned about deficits in the construction by the state and the company that pulled out of the project. He did not listen.

Sorry but it is his fault. His project, his responsibility .

Abeg free these people. nairaland na leveler. After reading the letter written by the Engineer the reasons given for his withdrawal from the project. Some Nigerians and unnecessary sentiments, bias, and selective condemnation. That is part of the reasons the country will hardly progress or develop. So cos the guy was rich, famous and well connected, he should not be criticised for what he himself admitted on national television? And those other people who are actually the real victims, people think they don't have families? Abeg

The laws of physics and engineering were like options to him.
He chose when and how to apply them in his building constructions.

He publicly said on TV that he does not listen to engineers when he is building in Nigeria.
And now innocent people have paid the price.

That guy's company should be bankrupted with lawsuits.

How someone who builds high rise buildings would grant an interview and drop such claims and yet no regulatory authority deems it fit to probe further is a wonder.

COREN, NSE, ARBON and the others are a bunch of annual fees collecting misnomers.

Professionally, the only person you can talk to if you want to reduce construction const and still maintain a high quality standard is the Quantity Surveyor. If you think you're smart enough and you compromise on some things ....My dear....am sorry, you're only digging your grave!
