The Toyota thing is just an average Nigerian mentality. All car manufacturers produce good cars that are durable and also fuel efficient.

The difference between most cars in the class of Toyota range of cars are + 5 or -5%. Just dont buy a used and abused car else you will inherit someone else problem irrespective of the manufacturer of the car.

While checking the bowjoint, it was discovered that the rubber bushing of the rod has wear out, he replaced the rod, the noise stopped but the car started exhibiting another symptom........the steering wheel shakes vigorously sometimes when accelerating or breaking.

Ive used so many cars both brand new and used cars and i can still argue with you that all cars manufactured in the last 10 years have a very close durability timeline and apart from european car all Japanese and American cars are cost effective.

Plus if you think some are far more fuel efficient than other visit www.fueleconomy.gov and do a side by side comparism of different cars in the same class and engine capacity, then u will undestand better.( compare compact cars that are 2.0L with other compact cars with 2.0L and same with other types of car of the same class and engine capacity)

In Nigeria we just go with the crowd and thats just it. It used to be Peugeot, Mercedes VBoot, 230E, 190. It was also VW Golf at some point and even ( Opel Omega, Mazda 626 etc) and now its Toyota.

If all d cars are of the same quality since d last 10 years as u claimed, how come Toyota has d highest value after 10 years? Are u telling me u will buy a 10 year old Hyundai Elantra?

Toyota is the only company where a low level worker detects a fault n his boss will always shut down d entire assembly line until they fix d fault. Give yourself a minute and think about d scale of such production halting decision.

I don't care about the product, I care about the process.

Toyotas r damn boring but they break down in a very predictable fashion. Nothing more frustrating then going on a journey n being unsure of what what will spoil in a car.

Nothing much because I usually buy and use first-grade foreign used cars.

For almost a year now that I have been using my car, I've only serviced it once. It might sound weird, but it is because I used 20,000 miles of original FRAM oil filter along with high-quality USA Mobil 1 engine oil, and I've only covered a total of about 7,000 miles driving the car since then.

That's just the secret of spending quite less on car maintenance.

Mine is so durable and very much tuned. Use it every day. Only regular oil changes and its 7.5ltr approx 13k for oil change alone.

Now i wanna change the rear drum brakes. Upgrade shocks, tyres and 1 headlight. 200k will do that.

But quarterly i rarely spend up to 15k for maintenance.

Its a solid axle vehicle so nothing like wheel framework problem. Its an 80 series landcruiser built for offroad but tuned for economy. I also do maintenance myself so i do weekly preventive maintenance.

I also wanna install a 50A deep cycle battery with a 2000w inverter so it has twin batteries.

Costs a lot lesser when u have both knowledge and skill and also make time to maintain

Bolt is still my padi. Why own a car when you can have chauffeurs? Or even rent one.

My car has this issue of swerving to the right recently when on top speed and I apply brake, the mechanic told me it was brake disc but he lied. After he serviced the brake disc problem still remain, then I went for alignment and wheel balancing same problem until I changed the front right tyre

So you changed just 1tire? You are supposed to change the 4 at once or at least 2.

That Yaris is the only car that you don't need to break the bank to maintain or service. Some owners even service once in six months and the efficient car no send.

If that's what you meant, it was said to have been replaced by the guy who worked on it. Initially it was not entering drive until when fired. After it was replaced it started entering but discharging gear. Now, the mechanic said the problem is now from gear Brain box which was recently also washed and serviced and it became worst. I'm just tired. The car is parked as I can't drive it.

I agree with you. Every vehicle owner needs to know that having a consistent maintenance culture is necessary for peace of mind, regardless of vehicle brand or model.
