It is believed that Nigeria has a population of above 200m people and it is estimated that about 100m are below poverty line.

Recall that about 70 percent of the poorest Nigerians are from the north. Also recall that qualifications for drawing most of covid parliative is poverty.

Now, do the mathematics yourself and see if government really paid anyone.
If you see the money being shared in the North eh. Then most of their politicians take advantage of this to steal under the guise of humanitarian funds.

These guys are just sophisticated in their act of embezzlement. Just watch, when the time comes, Buhari and his immediate family will work freely with no corruption case.

Felimax:
These ones are still in illusion. Caring leader my anus!
If his economic policies were good they will not need the bail out.
This mistake Nigerians will never forget in a hurry.

If he doesn't do you will criticize him,if he does you still do same. Try and appreciate good efforts for once.

I never heard or read about the Americans thanking Joe Biden for giving them even the most transparent Covid-19 palliative. And I follow foreign issues like there wouldn't be any news tomorrow. Here in Nigeria, we thank Governors for paying salaries and building roads like they're doing so with personal money.

grin first of all,why are the states unable to pay salaries? after destroying the country`s economy with stupendous policies, you start giving them loan as a solution
I read a book some years ago on why economy grows and why they crash. One of the things that surprises me is that everything written in that book by the old man which was republished by his two sons even though it is based on American's economy has reflected in ours. One of the scam the man wrote about is the word Bail Out. After reading the books and other books, I discovered that the western nations and financial bodies are playing on our intelligence, they actually taught us Rubbish

The funds will be disbursed in six tranches over six months, with a 30-year tenor, and a 2-year moratorium at an interest rate of 9 percent.

This looks more like a loan, since they have to pay back.
Re: ₦656bn Bailout To States: Buhari Is A Caring Leader – BMO by Nobody: 8:01am On Nov 25, 2021
Nope, just shows that the states are not very good at rasing IGR....which is why they are still begging for bailout.

You know, if states improved their tax to gdp ratios ...most of them have bad tax to gdp ratios...we would have had financailly automonous states, and less strain on the center, and less loans

Government too is also making a mistake bailing the states. Like Oliver Twist....

Plus government needs to diversify away from oil too.

Indeed. What will be the reflection of that on the citizens?

Hope that will force the price of food stuffs and other commodities down.

Such a shame though that we will only hear about it but will not touch the life of an ordinary man on the street.

If Kogi likes, let them go and keep theirs somewhere again.

Truth be told, while other past government has always denailed states such funds, this government has always shared to all the states the entitled funds.
Everyone must ensure their state government utilizes their own judiciously, rather than share malt and N400 or N500 to pregnant women like Abia
What is this one saying ?

Very true. We copied the American nerican Constitution without it's spirit and character. All elected officials have too easy access to public funds. And it shouldn't be so. If this anomaly is strengthened out today, the do-or-die conversation for power would cease.
