Can someone educate me on why there are more Regents in Ondo State.



Ondo happen to have more female rulers than any other state in Nigeria.


I also noticed they are also always very quiet.



I am just interested in knowing.

Because yorubas don't segregate, we give what belongs to a child to the child whether Male or female.

Currently we have about 4 or 5 female Kings. (The ones I know of)
After Ondo comes Ekiti in female rulers.

They can't be loud cuz they are female and not rich. A lot of them are quite young when selected and its not like they come from very rich families that would leave a huge inheritance for them. They don't even earn the same govt allocation a king gets. I believe its half of what a king gets a regent will get. From what I read, the govt official said if they give them the full allocation, the regents will not want to leave the throne/post.

They are the first daughter of the recently deceased king

And they will take his place until the kingmakers select a new king

Most of them don't even like the position especially the young ones. The feel it restricts them from living their life fully.

I was really saddened that she's late and how her life later panned out.. no matter what,she should still be celebrated and honoured.
