I doubt you even know what atheism really is or entails... Not to mention them having a growing community, like they actually have a dedicated community from where you drew figures from. It can be argued, even accepted, that a lot of Nigerians are becoming less religious with widely reducing church and mosque attendance... That doesn't mean they have become atheists. They still love and worship God. They have merely decided to do it less publicly. That's not atheism sir. Quit deceiving yourself. |

Nezzjnr:Lol, the irony in this comment. The fastest way to becoming an atheist is reading the Bible/Quran, not because of "fake clerics" using religion to cash out. |

![]() You can't deny the existence of God when you look at the beauty & intricate designs of nature. The issue has always been to understand or explain the nature of this God. & that's where religion comes in, which is purely based on beliefs. You may say you don't believe in religion viz Christianity, Islam etc, but not to doubt the existence of Supreme being. |

Nigeria is a ripe ground for atheism. So much wickedness in the midst of so much religion. Atheism is a natural response. |

900k atheists, I doubt it Generally we've all come to realize religion is shitty and a big scam, But the reality is that the way the country wouldn't facilitate the the actual ATHEISM Poverty, unemployment, killings, uncertainty, Paranoia and all, An average human being who is literally alone without any sort of emotional succour which religion provides to some extent will break under these conditions, 900k is actually minute from 200 million but I actually doubt it. I stopped going to church and definitely not a religious adherent of any denomination But I'm actually more of an agnoist, ATHEISM isn't the right word. I'll say we have more Agnoists rather than atheists |

Namnam:How did you come up with this number? Atheist in Nigeria can be compared to an ice berg...you are only seeing the tip of the ice berg, cos a lot more are in the closet. I'm an atheist, but no one around me knows... there are a lot of people like me out there. |

Realtalk20:Irony. What promise did atheism make? Is not not modern day Christianity that promises you life of riches and problem free life if you just give your life to Jesus (represented by pastors). You are asked not only to give your life but money, time and mind to your pastors for promises of prosperity. |
