Nigeria is a ripe ground for atheism.

So much wickedness in the midst of so much religion.

Atheism is a natural response.

Believe me, it's religion that is creating and fuelling the wickedness. A religion that priorises materislism over love and compassion is bound to fuel wickedness. I am get to see an atheist involved in kidnapping, ritual murder and official stealing. I am get to see an atheist in prison for crimes.

Don't use that one to disturb us. If you people like you can live as godless, stiff-necked heathens that's una business. We have more pressing issues troubling us in this country.
Godlessness has more to do with religious folks than non religious folks these days. Infact they believe their religion gave them freedom from the consequences of their actions.

Irony. What promise did atheism make? Is not not modern day Christianity that promises you life of riches and problem free life if you just give your life to Jesus (represented by pastors). You are asked not only to give your life but money, time and mind to your pastors for promises of prosperity.

Hush

You seem so desperate for my approval grin

Hunger has really done a number on you grin

So after poverty still remains with you in aethism what next? Scientology? grin

I don’t think we we have so much atheists like that in Nigeria( by atheists i mean people who actually don’t believe in the existence of God/the supreme being) , rather what we have in Nigeria is a growing case of people that have stopped going to church or mosque because they’ve grown tired of it and have seen the hypocrisy of some of the proponents of the two major religions.
Nigerians (especially the youth ) are just not interested in what pastors and Islamic clerics have to say.
You are right to some extent

An average atheist is sympathetic and compassionate towards fellow human.

I no fit talk the same for our religious folks. As we all know, Religion has been one of the major cause of war even for Nigeria not to talk of the world generally.

Religion itself is not the problem but man. He intend to shape and use every tool given to him for his own selfish course

We have atheists, not just people that stopped going to church but people that don't believe in the fraud called God or a girlish guy named Jesus

Hunger is causing it. When you are hungry and frustrated you become angry at everyone and everything. You curse your parents , you curse your debtors and those who you are owing money too. You curse your lineage and country and finally your curse your creator and suddenly stop believing in anything due to a rumbling empty stomach grin

All these so called atheists in Nigeria are hungry ,broke people who have tried to borrow money from everywhere no one helped them. They prayed countless times for help and none came,They converted from Christianity to Islam and back n forth looking for money to rent a one room to sleep in.

Finally one guy is claims to be an atheist gave them 2k to eat which looks like 1 billion to them and immediately they join and start ranting that do called Christians and Muslims and evil ... All because of 2k shocked

Just shut up man, how's your life going? Have you built a house yet or finished school? People should be allowed to practice what they like, you're inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

Stats shows otherwise, infact it is the most impoverished people that are the most religious. When you can't find what you seek physically, you take your case to the spiritual hoping for a change.

Lol, the irony in this comment. The fastest way to becoming an atheist is reading the Bible/Quran, not because of "fake clerics" using religion to cash out.

EXACTLY! I became an atheist in 2010 after reading the whole Bible. It's always funny to people when I tell them that.

Now this is the correct fact! I'm no atheist, but I can't remember the last time I was in a church building. And yeah you're right about the reasons too. Hypocrisy being the major

Foolishness in the land, it's a sad reality when these atheists claim to be smarter and wiser by believing that there's no God by using science as an excuse or evidence, not knowing science can't disprove God either, the thought of using physical phenomena to try an explain a possible metaphysical being believed to have universal sovereignity isn't it stupidity in itself.Isn't it the greatest scientists such as Einstein that believed in God, Newton who did so too, same man who discovered gravity O! He has a book on Christ, search his books on Google and it's there. Read about Emanuel Swedenborg one of the greatest scientists of the 18th century with too many discoveries and excellence start writing About Jesus and his visions for no financial or fame gain at all, Read the shock on Queen of Sweden's face when he told her something no other man alive would know from her dead brother and atheist professionals there to all attempts failed to think of anyway how? How he predicted his own date of death to a man he messaged just because the man was interested in him? No it's scientific intuition, Ode

So a criminal is going to tell you his religion? Abi how did you arrive at this? How many prisons in nigeria have you been to?

Don't you think it's those that don't even believe there is a consequence for their actions that'd willing to commit a crime in the first place?

I've met only one.... He left Christianity for atheism briefly, a very brilliant guy. Most of the people around him were fervent Christians funny enough. It didn't take long when a terrible problem came his way and he met his friends to ask for their help in prayers and that was how he came back.
He wanted to live his promiscuous live guilt free, that was why he converted to atheism in the first place.

Most atheist are poorer of the poor.

They became who they are because of their hard experience in Life.

After they've tried every means to succeess but to avail, their little mind make them lose hope in God's existence. They're COWARDS
